Spiele die Pyramids auf nem Palatino-EUB: Wegen dem zusätzlichen el.PU, den ich eingebaut habe, müssen es Stahlsaiten sein.... aber auch mit dem eingebauten Piezo-PU ist der Klang der Saiten kraftvoll und ausgewogen.

Beim Einbau gab es Probleme mit der G-Saite: Die schnarrte (war wohl ein Fabrikationsfehler), wurde aber von Thomann sofort eine neue nachgeliefert.

Gemessen daran, daß meine Standard-Saiten Thomastic Spirocore medium ein mehrfaches kosten, habe ich von den Pyramid-Saiten keine Wunderdinge erwartet. Sie sind für ihren Preis (jedenfalls für den Jazzbereich) soweit in Ordnung.

Nach meinem Eindruck sind es (verglichen mit den besagten Spirocores) relativ dünne und weiche Saiten. Also womöglich eine fingerfreundliche Wahl für Umsteiger vom E-Baß, die noch Kondition trainieren und sich nicht gleich mit harten Saiten Frusterlebnisse einhandeln wollen.

Ich nutze die Pyramids allerdings nur auf einem Gelegenheits-EUB ohne großen klanglichen Anspruch - für den schönen Kontrabaßklang waren sie mir zu "leicht" und zuwenig kräftig.
