Mein im Herbst 2016 nach längerer Spielpause erworbener Bass verfügt über eine 100cm-Spielmensur und entspricht daher eher einem 5/8-Bass als einem 1/2. Meine früheren Instrumente waren deutlich größer (3/4 bzw. 7/8).
Die Auswahl der optimalen Saiten für einen solchen nicht alltäglichen Bass ist extrem schwierig, egal, ob man in Richtung 3/4 soft, medium oder strong, Solostimmung oder 1/2 geht, zumal bei 1/2 die Auswahl dramatisch eingeschränkt ist.
Die Pirastro Obligato 1/2 für Bass sind ergiebig und warm im Ton, unter dem Bogen des klassischen (Laien-)Orchestermusikers wirklich sehr gut ansprechend und halten die Stimmung schon nach erfreulich kurzer Zeit wie Stahlsaiten. Laut Auskunft aus dem Hause Pirastro ist die längere Spielmensur mit der zwangsläufigen Folge einer deutlich höheren Spannung kein Problem für diese Saiten. Die E-Saite holt das Optimum aus dem doch recht kleinen Instrument heraus.

Ein upgrade für jeden Bass mit Standard Saiten!

Ich habe bisher jeden Bass ausgestattet mit diesen Saiten. Gerade für Anfänger sind das gut bespielbare Saiten mit kurzer Einspielzeit. Nach 15 Jahren Kontrabasspause habe ich mir den Kontrabass 33 von Thomann gekauft für meine Jungs. Am Anfang dachte ich die Standard Saiten zu verwenden...

Als der Bass ankam und ich Ihn getestet habe, habe ich sofort die Obligatos nachbestellt. Es ist einfach ein krasses, hörbare upgrade zu den Stahlkernsaiten.

Der Ton ist insgesamt wärmer und die Saiten durch den Schlaf nicht so scratchy.

Die Obligato Saite bietet ein großes Volumen im Klang und ist sowohl für den Pizzicato, als auch für den Arco Gebrauch bestens geeignet. Die Saite hat eine ausgezeichnete Ansprache und klingt bis in die Daumenlage ausgewogen. Die Stimmstabilität ist verblüffend gut. Ich spiele Obligato auch auf anderen Bässen, meine erste Wahl.
