A quality entry level synth
The Mininova is a quality entry level synth. It has tons of pre-loaded patches, which are organised into useful categories.
The vocoder is decent, though you will be limited to about six useful patches. Out of the box, the synth is primarily monophonic, but you can alter all the patches to be polyphonic, which is a great option.
One other great feature is the ability to select eight patches as your favorites and assign them to the Favorites buttons. This makes it really easy to switch between sounds in a live setting.
The synth has two oscillators which can be modified at any time. You also have the option of adding effects and applying filters. There are multiple arpeggiator options in the main menu which can be assigned to each of the patches.
At this price point, your options are the Mininova and the Microkorg. The Microkorg is great for creating sounds, the Mininova has more pre-loaded patches.
Overall, the Mininova is a quality synthesizer and well worth the price tag.

Impressive bit of kit!
I am a guitarist first and foremost with minimal experience of synths. I bought this unit for some experimenting in my band (I play in a funk band and a Prog Rock band).
First thing I noticed was how small the keys were! It's like playing a toddlers keyboard toy from Toys R Us expect that the sound is an absolute beast. The Mininova is small but looks beautiful. The quality of the knobs/buttons/wheels etc are fantastic.
The main reason for this purchase was the Vocoder and for me, its perfect. The Mic is very good quality and extremely sturdy whilst connected. The amount of control it gives you over the sound can (for me) be overwhelming at times, but the manual is very clear to understand.
The only thing that has been a struggle for me is to find something koto stand it on as the size won't lend itself to a normal keyboard stand. I have ordered a Projector stand on Amazon and hopefully this should be perfect for what I need it for.
Overall I'd say that this keyboard is an absolute Gem for its price and you can just sit and play for hours. I was worried about getting a power adapter for it but it is possible to just power this off USB (I use an iPhone wall charger) which again is great!

I bought this having had no previous experience on keyboards and such.
I highly enjoy this piece of equipment it is a very powerful instrument , fun to use and learn some basic tricks on.

novation mininova
This is an unbelievable synth amazing endless hour's of fun tweaking, editing, noodling. It has great built in sounds all fully tweakable. Plus room for plenty more. Nearly all reviews I have read about this synth complain about the mini keys but I think htis just adds to the synths character. It is fully editable with or without a computer. And the supplied software is a massive bonus. I cant say enough about this synth and frankly before it arrived I couldn't find much on line other than promo vids. Dont be put off by its design or size. Its a beast and a sexy one at that.

Love the sounds and editor
I am very happy with this device.
The editor is fantastic and it is very easy to integrate it with any DAW.
Only comment could be the keys... but I have to admit that are as good/bad as in any other small keys device.

Excellent beginner synth
Have been using my mininova for 3 years, never had any issue with it. Great presets, easy to manipulate sounds. The extra mic for the vocoder is a nice bonus.

Best VA synth for the money
The sound is just amazing, the build quality is very good, the pads that can be assigned to perform various functions are very very handy especially in live situations. The minikeys are quite ok, not the best I have ever played, but very usuable.

Great synth!
Amazing synth with so many features, I'm still figuring out how to fully use it to this day! endless features and the vocoder is an excellent touch :) Would highly recommend

Excellent Synth
I have owned many synths of a much higher price range but for the money the Novation Mini Nova is up there with the best of them as far as ease of use and functionality is concerned. 5 Stars....
