Very handy for switching (bass)guitars

Switching jacks silently without need for a mute. Works great. Sometimes it blocks the signal when you move too much... the only negative side, but it can be a problem when playing live. I only use it in my studio where I don't jump around.

I'm using this for all my instrument cables to prevent pops and buzzes during instrument change on stage. I had one that failed - the switching ring gets stacked in the closed position, preventing it's main purpose. However, being in warranty Thomann exchanged it. Also using it to connect to Mesa MKV amp - this seems to be the only jack that fits well the front plate. Good product.

T
only for thin cables
ThorCrowley 23.04.2018
To stop the sounds (humming) when switching guitars the Neutrik NP2 RX-Au Silent is a good solution.
The build quality is good but not exceptional.
The concept applied is very usable but not perfect.
The main problem I have with the Neutrik NP2 RX-Au Silent is that the choice of cables you can use it with is limited to rather small diameter cable. 6mm appears to be the upper limit which can be made to work
(with some slimming of the plastic part that presses down on the cable).
other than that ... still a usable and helpful plug

Neutrik NP2 RX-Au Silent instrument jack
Andreas_ 15.02.2014
The angled Neutrik NP2 Silent is a high quality instrument jack made by Neutrik. It is easy to solder and I think I could reuse and resolder it a couple of times without breaking anything if I had any problem with the cable.
One very big flaw is that the sleeve used for silently plugging and unplugging the cable is a bit too small and jams from time to time, wich leads to a crackling of the amp. I guess it is a manufacturing error on my jack because my non-angled Neutrik NP2 RX Silent jack works flawlessly.

Do i really need this?
Nurja 19.11.2013
Yes! Playing in big venues you really don't want to yank your cord out from the jack with volumes up if you need to change guitars.
Only negative thing: The corner connector doesn't fit in to a stratocaster properly. BUT luckily they have the straight ones for that ;)
