Expanding a professional IEM setup
As a technologically highly reliable UHF wireless system, the MI‑909 series can be expanded almost indefinitely with additional receivers, available here individually. The MI-909 ecosystem is aimed at professional users who demand maximum sound quality and transmission stability in demanding RF environments. Its digital signal path ensures transparent, uncoloured audio reproduction without any of the artefacts typical of analogue signal paths – this is precise, touring-grade monitoring. The connection between transmitter and receiver is notable for its high RF stability, as well as virtually imperceptible latency of less than 4ms. Mipro's proprietary Automatic Channel Targeting technology (ACT) makes installation quick and easy to manage, while facilitating integration into coordinated multi‑unit setups. As a UHF system with wide switching bandwidth, the MI‑909 is designed for use in complex live, broadcast, or touring scenarios where predictable RF performance and reliable signal routing are essential.
Customising the signal
The MI‑909R bodypack receivers are rugged and compact, and clearly designed for use in demanding live environments. Thanks to the True Diversity technology with separate antenna paths, they offer a particularly high level of transmission reliability, even when artists move around on stage or the system is used in congested RF environments. The result is stable reception with a low risk of dropouts or signal interruptions. Power is supplied by standard commercially available batteries, so the devices are independent and flexible – ideal for taking on tour. Musicians can make many of the most important adjustments to their sound directly on the unit: Balance controls, for instance, make it possible to customise the signal to personal preferences, for example when panning a mono mix made up of two sources like vocals and a click track. Equally, the receiver's mono L and R settings allow artists to choose to hear just one of those tracks, for extremely flexible performances.
Coordinating the system
The MI‑909 in‑ear monitoring system is designed for use in production environments where multiple wireless systems are often operated in parallel, which requires careful coordination. Its UHF wireless technology with wide switching bandwidth allows frequencies to be planned in advance, providing the level of reliability required for use on large stages, in theatres, broadcast applications, or demanding corporate settings. The transmitter is housed in a particularly robust enclosure, with a PLL synthesiser ensuring precise and reliable tuning to the intended frequency under changing conditions. For structured monitor racks and fixed installations, it can be easily integrated into 19" racks, allowing it to slot seamlessly into permanent rigs. The system is intended to be one fixed component in a coordinated concept – not just a standalone set providing wireless IEM for a specific number of artists.
About Mipro
Established in 1995 in Chiayi, Taiwan, by wireless and audio engineer K.C. Chang, Mipro has become a leader in high-quality wireless audio systems. Now run by his son Solomon, the company specialises in wireless microphone systems, portable sound systems, in-ear monitoring solutions, tour guide systems, and camera receivers. In 2014, Mipro Germany GmbH was founded in Hardthausen, near Heilbronn, to enhance customer service and ensure smooth delivery across Germany. Mipro adheres to the latest manufacturing standards and holds top-tier classifications from the Electronics Association. In Germany, the company is TÜV-certified under DIN ISO-9001:2000, a testament to its commitment to quality.
Scalable IEM for reliable setups
The entire Mipro MI‑909 series designed for practical, real‑world reliability. Input signals can be passed through flexibly, allowing monitor signals to be distributed efficiently and complex rack configurations to be implemented with ease. Via the RJ11 interfaces, multiple transmitters can be centrally monitored and managed – an important advantage in setups where usability, reproducibility, and coordination are key priorities. Security has also been taken into account: The system's digital transmission is encrypted, meeting requirements commonly found in broadcast contexts or other sensitive environments. At the same time, in more typical settings like musical theatre and live music venues, the system delivers high-quality, low‑latency monitoring that's well suited both to vocals and rhythmically unforgiving instruments like drums. All in all, the MI‑909 combines high‑quality sound with a system architecture built for continuous professional use and the parallel operation of multiple IEM links.
