What a difference- give your rear a treat!
For the last 35 years I have been using various round topped stools. I was perfectly happy with my last one, but it had the traditional way of altering the height whereby you have to remove bolts, break a nail, search for the dropped washer under furniture and then re-tighten the bolt. I did a few gigs recently where the floor was ever so slightly sloping, but enough to make the drums at slightly the wrong angle- so I needed to adjust the stool (but you are stuck with having to move 1 hole up or down- may be wrong amount) or adjust the drum hardware.
Anyhow, because it was so cheap, I thought I would experiment with a gas filled adjustable stool such as this one. Also, I wondered if the bike saddle shape might be better. What a difference! Firstly you can adjust the height exectly to where you want it, and can alter it at the touch of a lever if you want it slightly different. Also, unlike my old stool, it rotates very freely, so subtly movements one way or the other take less strain on your spine. The different shape is also loads more supportive than a round stool- I was surprised.
The one reservation I had about this stool is that it is leather, not cloth upholstered, so I was expecting it to make by bum hot and sweaty while playing- however I didn't notice this at all. I also haven't used the backrest while playing and don't think I will need to. I did try it out just to see what it felt like and it was very comfy, and if doing lots of double pedal work I guess I would find it very supportive. When I read in the blurb before buying it that it was easily detatchable, I expected having to remove screws etc. and having to decide whether I wanted it or not and probably having to stick to that decision. However, it is true! You just slide the bracket into its holder and tighten it at the depth you want it, and it is removed equally easily. You could even do it mid-gig if you wanted to.
I know I am in danger of sounding like a salesman for this product, but look at the price, look at the spec, and honestly the other stools on sale aren't worth a look in- I can't see the point of spending twice as much for less features. If in the name of balance I was to give my one quibble, when opening and closing the legs when setting up/down it isn't very smooth, and the T bolt looks a bit cheap, and there are a few slightly rough edges on the metalwork, but the end result is that it is really sturdy, so I can live with that.

great drum throne, great price
Wow, for a relatively low-cost drum throne, this is an excellent buy. A brand new saddle shaped throne, with beckrest and hydraulic height adjustment for £66 ??! That's amazing for a drum stool of this quality. Sure, it's not a Tama 1st, but it's not £250 either. Is the Tama 1st four times as good as this? Absolutely not!
I would recommend this stool to anyone.

drum in luxury
well packaged, quick delivery, awsome product for peanuts. not seen any thing near it for less than 3x the price, built like a rock, only point to improve is the hydrolic release handle in my opinion

Comfy drum seat
It's the best drum seat I've had!
The back support makes a huge impact when you need to stretch your back during the song intervals

Firm Stable and Good Quality
Hasn't been too long with the chair but so far so good. If you are bored of the reqular drum key chairs that will wiggle regardless of how much you squeeze the bolt this is your chair. The hydrolic piston makes it easy to adjust and keeps it firm. It is comfortable. Material is good but ofcourse don't expect the best quality. Back rest works just by being there, not bad but still I can't trust it to fully lean on it since the connection part and the neck material felt a little bit weak. Last thing it is a little bit heavy so I wouldn't suggest carrying it over but it is overall satisfactory.

Really comfortable. Well padded. The back is also removable!
I was worried this would be really hard and plasticy but it is actually really soft and comfortable, and quite wide too - bigger than I expected it to be, which turned out to be a good thing.
The pneumatic height adjustment is so handy as well, no more getting out the drum key to adjust the seat height.
It came in a box with 3 parts; the base, backrest and seat itself. There was no assembly instructions so I thought it was broken when I tried to mount the seat to the base and it wouldn't sit flush. Turns out you need to remove the little red rubber cap over the pneumatic mechanism on the base. Once that minor hiccup was out of the way, it was very stable and sturdy.
Overall, really happy with this.

Great support
For the more senior drummer,, me, this is ideal. The back support is a boon for a long gig. Very sturdy item.

Excellent stool for this price, BUT
I recommend this stool for everybody that plays regular 2-3 hours gigs. Very well crafted. High quality hidraulics. But if you play weddings in East Europe like i do for 6-7 hours straight, with one or two short break, don't take it. The seat is not that soft, so it becomes unconmfortable after 2-3 hours of playing.

Wow
Always never really bothered me what I sat on but hey I decided to treat myself.
This has got to be the best drum throne I've ever sat on. It also puts you in the exact position for playing especially double kick pedals and the shape n size of the seat is amazing. Ye done need your hundreds of pounds thrones this has it all.
