More control, same compact power
The Mackie Thump 210XT builds on the same compact platform as the Thump 210, as part of the second generation of the Thump series. It combines the same lightweight cabinet with a 1400W Class D amplifier capable of delivering high output levels up to 127dB SPL. Built around a 10" woofer and 1" compression driver, it provides a balanced, full-range sound suitable for small to medium-sized spaces. It retains the core features of the range, including a built-in 2-channel mixer with XLR/TRS inputs and a 3.5mm auxiliary input: Channel 1 accepts mic and line signals, while Channel 2 supports line-level sources as well as the mini-jack input. A Thru output allows the mixed signal of both channels to be passed on to additional speakers, providing a straightforward and flexible solution for scaling sound systems with minimal effort. The XT version extends this platform with additional app-based DSP control and Bluetooth audio functionality.
Durable design, clean controls
The Mackie Thump 210XT prioritises portability, durability, and ease of use. Its lightweight moulded cabinet (11.6kg), constructed from durable synthetic material, helps reduce weight while maintaining the robustness required for regular transport and setup. Integrated handles facilitate positioning, and the design offers a variety of setup options. Covering a frequency range from 52Hz to 23kHz, it delivers full-range sound with solid low-end presence for music playback while maintaining clarity for vocals and speech. The system can also be paired with a Mackie Thump subwoofer for extended low-frequency performance. In addition, four voicing modes – Music, Live, Club, and Monitor – allow the speaker's response to be adapted quickly to different applications, while an Outdoor mode compensates for open-air environments.
Where it fits
The Thump 210XT is well suited to DJs, musicians, presenters, and event organisers looking for a compact and easy-to-manage PA solution that offers additional control and flexibility. Its integrated mixer and extended feature set make it particularly effective in setups where additional equipment is limited or where quick deployment is essential, including single-speaker configurations. It handles a wide range of sources, from microphones and instruments to Bluetooth playback, adaptable to speech, live music, and general sound reinforcement duties alike. Features such as Music Ducking, which automatically lowers Channel 2 when a signal is present on Channel 1, make it especially useful for announcements, hosting, and event work, from informal performances to more structured settings such as presentations or conferences.
About Mackie
In 1988 Greg Mackie, already a successful co-founder of a pro audio company, founded Mackie Designs Inc. with the goal of producing affordable, high-quality mixers. The company's first official product, the LM-1602 line mixer, was initially produced within the four walls of his home. As sales figures were encouraging, its successor model CR-1604 soon followed - and in 1991 the company finally moved into its first proper production facility. The combination of reliable quality and low prices quickly brought the company enormous success, so that by 1995 Mackie had already sold 100,000 products. In 2003, the company was renamed LOUD Audio, LLC so that there is no longer any confusion between the Mackie brand and its former parent company of the same name.
Flexible in real-world setups
To make transporting the road-ready Mackie Thump 210XT as easy as possible, there is a dedicated soft-shell case in the form of the Mackie Bag Thump210/XT (sold separately). When used to provide stereo sound to a seated audience, the Mackie Thump 210XT can be set up vertically at the front of the stage, paired wirelessly with a second unit. It's also suitable for al fresco music thanks to its integrated Outdoor mode, and its wedge form also allows the speaker to be used as a monitor. This flexibility makes installation in multi-functional spaces much quicker, and its lightweight design also allows it to be flown in a permanent hanging setup in nightclubs, where the Club mode provides the most impressive sound configuration. For galas and the like, the ideal mounting would be on a tripod (also sold separately), with the Mackie Thump 212XT's combination of power and flexibility also making it a good option for trade fairs and conferences. It can even accompany international travellers, capable as it is of handling all voltage standards between 100 and 240V.
In the spotlight
Thump Connect 2
The Thump 210XT introduces a range of DSP features designed to adapt the speaker to different applications and environments. Four voicing modes – Music, Live, Club, and Monitor – tailor the frequency response for playback, live sound, DJ use, or stage monitoring, while an additional Outdoor mode compensates for open-air setups. Bluetooth connectivity enables both wireless audio streaming and system control via the Thump Connect 2 app, allowing levels, EQ, voicing modes, and presets to be adjusted remotely. When using Bluetooth sources, two speakers can also be linked wirelessly for stereo playback, simplifying setup in smaller systems without the need for additional cabling.
