Ich hatte mir aufgrund der positiven Beurteilungen dieses Geigenbauers wohl etwas zu viel vom Klang und von der Verarbeitung des Instruments versprochen. Ich bin kein Profi und habe mir auch kein Instrument für einen Solocellisten für diesen Preis erwartet.
Geliefert wurde das Cello noch in von Thomann gewohnter sicherer Art und Weise. Eine Schädigung durch den Transport ist nahezu ausgeschlossen. Leider weist das Instrument aber eine Reihe von unschönen Kratzern offenbar aus dem Herstellungsprozess auf. Die Überlackierung dieser Fehler half da leider nur bedingt.

Nun gut, es kommt ja in erster Linie auf den Klang eines Instrumentes an und Schönheitsfehler machen es irgendwie ja auch unverwechselbar. Leider ist jedoch auch der Klang in Teilbereichen nicht herausragend. Während die G-Saite z.B. noch sehr schön warm und voll klingt, ist die Herrlichkeit bei der D-Saite spätestens in der 4. Lage vorbei. Den Klang kann man leider nur noch als dumpf bezeichnen. Da halfen auch keine anderen Saiten weiter - mit Larsen Il Cannone wurde es dann ein wenig besser. Als Fazit muss ich leider feststellen, dass in bestimmten Tonbereichen der Klang nicht besser ist, als der meines 20 Jahre alten einfachen Cellos von Gewa.
Als Lehre habe ich für mich gezogen, dass das nächste Cello nicht ohne ausgiebiges Probespielen gekauft wird.

Ich habe mir vor ca. 9 Monaten dieses Cello, bestellt und spiele es seitdem täglich mit sehr viel Freude. Besonders die tiefe Klangfarbe und die wunderschöne Optik lassen mein Herz täglich höher schlagen. Das Cello hat eine ausgezeichnete Qualität und ist sehr gut verarbeitet.
