N
If you want free flowing power for your tenor sax

Like many of you I've tried many saxophone mouthpieces over the years and different makes and strengths of reed trying to find the sound. I think the first thing to say is you need to try before you buy and find the right combination of reed , mouthpiece and ligature. For a time I tried wide mothpieces and hard reeds and could get a sound but it was hard work. The thing about the Chicago Jody Jazz that appealed to me was the mention of free flowing and the Chicago sound. I have not become Von Freeman or Ari Brown but I like the sound I am making after switching to Red Vandoren 2's. The intonation and articulation is great. The colour of the sound for me is a cross between dark jazz and bright blues. If you are looking for a change give this mouthpiece a go.
