Fender Vaporizer replacement - Excellent
alex_v 01.01.2021
I decided to swap one of the Vaporizer stock speakers. It instantly blew my mind. Those who own the amp, will know that it can sound very "boxy" and harsh. After reading about a lot of mods people do, I decided to go with the speaker swap which is the simplest one.

Instant tone improvement. The cleans are beautiful, the amp break-up is much better. Throw a heavy OD pedal in front and you can go full on AC/DC. Tested with a Strat and an Ibanez RG in various settings, both channels. This speaker really does the job. This specific amp is now far more gigable (thanks 2020).

However I must say that I think two of these on a Vaporizer would make it too chimey. In my case, it added whatever was missing from my amp and interacts well with the stock speaker. If I ever wanted to replace the other stock speaker, I would go for something with more bass probably. Consider that if you intent to use it on this amp.

The speaker is of excellent quality, the boxing seems to have protected it from all the transporting. Would definitely recommend.

Big upgrade

I put 2 of these in a Fender Vaporizer, huge difference, more clarity, sparkling top end without being harsh and a lovely low bottom end.

a great upgrade from the HHs at a great price recommend for Laney VC30
Richard422 07.07.2014
The HH invaders in my Laney VC30 were sounding dull. Chose these as they were fitted to later models and had good reviews. Definitely better as soon as fitted, and they are improving as they break in. Tastes differ, but i find these speakers have a warmer midrange but sound brighter overall. they will mellow with use, but already are an upgrade. Next step try these with other amps, see what they sound like. An interesting alternative to the ubiquitous Celestions. I have the 10" versions. At this price a worthwhile alternative for a vintage sound. Everone mutters about tone - but it is very subjective. Without the time and money it is difficult to recommend speaker swaps. All you can do is decide what you want to change about your tone, and then do the research to see what is on offer. I was lucky. there are lots of reviews of Jensen celestion and HH equipped VC30s, which helped me make up my mind. Thank you internet!

Mon HP préféré
folknblues 15.04.2020

A savoir donc :
- Son très brillant et ouvert
- Excellente dynamique,
