Most underrated cymbal on the market!
TokyoDrummer 20.12.2021
Forget the price for a second, the sound and feel is where the XIST brilliant and natural is at! Especially for the past 5 years or so, it seems every manufacturer is hell bent on who can make the darkest, driest and “vintage-like” cymbals. (I mean it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous) This trend also includes the brand that really put the dark vintage sound back on the market- AGOP. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a jazz drummer and love the dark breathy wash of Agop’s Special Edition, Signature and Traditional Dark lines but these days, I’m really attracted to a clean, bright sound with good articulation. I bought this 22” crash from Thomann of course, mainly to ride on and not as a crash. It’s been great in the venue that I play at 6 nights a week. The ride articulation doesn’t get lost in the band and against the din of the venue. Just so you know, this doesn’t mean that this cymbal is absent of the breathy wash that the “jazz” lines have. It still has a nice airy quality without the dark & trashy color that seems to be the trend now. I love this 22” brilliant Xist crash so much that I just ordered the 24” Xist brilliant ride today!

A me piace polto ...
