Tommy Igoe hat wieder mal bewiesen, dass er ein exzellenter Schlagzeugpädagoge ist. Das Buch ist systematisch aufgebaut, handelt alle wichtigen Schlagzeugstilistiken ab und ist mit munteren, motivierenden Kommentaren versehen. Englisch muss natürlich verstanden werden. Die Band groovt hervorragend, der Sound ist manchmal etwas sehr synthetisch und die Stücke könnten kompositorisch etwas interessanter sein. Die Grooves werden jeweils in einer slow- und einer fast- Version angeboten, wobei die fast-Versionen manchmal etwas übertrieben schnell eingespielt sind. Meine Schüler passen da durchweg.

Sicher kann man auch zu CD s spielen, die einem musikalisch gut gefallen, aber die Playalongs haben nun mal den Vorteil, dass keine Drums dabei sind. Gut ist auch, dass man keinen Klick hört, man muss also schon auf die "Mitmusiker" hören.

Die Stücke haben Leadsheets, die toll zum Formspieltraining genutzt werden kann. Voll gelungen, ein Muß für jeden Drum-Leherer.
