Horst Wünsche are one of the best zither makers in the world. Their intruments are made from really good quality wood, as is the metalwork on their instruments. Most of the old 'antique' zithers were made using old box wood and the cheapest hardwood tuning block known to man. They were made to be 'cheap and cheerful' common use instruments. Professional players, such as Anton Karas, often had to replace their instrument every year because of warping and the tuning pins no longer gripping the wood. These zithers are made to last and even the pegs that you hook the strings on at the back are nice and 'chunky'. I love it and it plays beautifully. You get what you pay for.
