I've used Hercules stands for years and always been impressed, until now...

The stands look good and at first did an excellent job. However within 6 months, with minimal use, the ratchet on both stands began to jam and one stopped working altogether. The speakers were light and the stands were well looked after. It seems as though the ratchet is more a gimick than a long-term solution.
