Wood snicker picker!
Good pickup, great tones - all in all - a high recommended product!
pro's:
- No noise
- Long cable
- clear tones
- cool "wood" looking design
- easy installation
- seems pretty durable
- fits most acoustic guitars but also other instruments
con's:
- at this price - really nothing!
Use it with your acoustic. At home or live. Use it for recording if you like. There's no real recepie here. It's how you like it.
The sound is clear and jangly. Output is a bit lower but personally, I like it better than the cheapy "Fishman" sys+ DI preamp from the guitar. There's much more dynamics but also more grit with the SH-20. You can also experiment with various effects at this point. I did. With pretty good results. I mean it's not always easy to control drive with an acoustic. But i sound that with this pickup i could control the drive frequencies much easier.
So for this price you really can't go wrong, just give it a go - and here's an idea! - you can mic (connect) your guitar dual outputs (one from the pickup, the other one from the piezo output) into the mixer at the same time - that should produce a marvelous effect and a pretty original sound.
HB - way to go!
Guys - Cheers!

Simple and effective
Couldn't be easier to use, and no drilling / sawing / hammering the precious guitar.
I thought the sound was very good. No feedback problems and it's warmer than the piezo options. Decent length lead, should be adequate for most purposes. Nice metal jack plug, rather than the plastic sort that some items are provided with.
I'm using this with a 12 string and it's absolutely fine.

I use this on a "placcy back",
The placcy back's electrics failled after 17 years, but the guitar was good quality. A new guitar for my type of work is around 4 to 500€, but I was completely "whacked" by the natural sound from this p'up and No batteries to fail.
this p'up needs a little more "pre gain" than some, but it's natural sound and string separation far outweigh the topic.
I could not believe its "sound for cost" as I've been digging through sound hole p'ups costing almost ten times this for a few years, all with irritating little sound problems. This p'up really astounded me.

Exceeded expectations
Very surprised how good this sounds. Using it on a Fender acoustic plugged into a bass amp. Thought it would need some drastic EQing, but it sounds great out of the box. Sounds more natural to me than a piezo setup. Bright and sparkly with plenty of sustain.
Even though it's magnetic, it's quite microphonic so will pick up some of the acoustic nuances. Still, for recording I'd probably combine it with a traditional mic signal.
I'm using it in a moderately loud live setup and have never heard it feedback. It's a little susceptible to interference but nothing that you'd notice while actually playing.

Amazing value for money
I have an acoustic guitar that I wanted to record and while recording through the mic is an option I wanted a proper pickup.
Harley Benton TrueTone SH-20 doesn't disappoint. I was actually quite surprised with the sound I got from the guitar. My guitar is quite bassy so I made use of the installation option to pronounce the higher frequencies and I'm actually very happy with the result.
As always, the sound you like is personal and subjective so for me I'm happy with the sound I get and for this price it's not really a problem to give it try if you are in need of such pick up.

sehr gut
The SH-20 shell is made of maple wood, just like my Fender electric guitar neck. very beautifu. I always like wooden shell pickup. This product is nice and cheap, after all, it is a Thomann product. My roommate has bought a Dean Markley and is almost the same effect. Later I would like to buy speaker, probably Harley Benton HBAC-20.

Very pleased with the pickup. Not a top-notch quality sound but more than acceptable for the price.

Good quality pickup for acoustic guitar
Actually a great product. Cheap. Plugs in into my guitar extremely well. Great accessory to buy.
