Overall, this is a satisfactory instrument considering the price point. There are some minor concerns with the neck, tuners, and the finish, but nothing that seriously affects playability. There’s a small bump near the 14th fret, but it doesn't interfere with playing — which is a big relief compared to a previous D-120 model I bought (without electronics), where a much larger bump made the guitar essentially unusable.
This one just needs a bit of basic setup to feel more comfortable — something I expected at this price level.
However, I was quite surprised by the cosmetic condition of this guitar, especially considering it's listed as a new item (not B-stock). The finish on the body has numerous small scratches, and while it's hard to say for sure, it really looks like the guitar may have been played before — not just briefly handled. The strings also didn’t seem fresh; they already sounded dull and worn. I compared them with the strings on my other D-120 (the one I’m returning), and those sounded noticeably brighter and looked cleaner. That other guitar also had a close to flawless finish, which made the contrast even more noticeable.
That said, I’m keeping this one — for sitting by the campfire, it does the job just fine. But I’ll definitely be a bit more cautious next time when ordering a new instrument, as this experience raises some questions about quality control and handling before shipping.
