Modern day Gretsch

I've always liked Gretsch products (with a few exceptions) over the years so I was eager to see how my new kit would compare. I need not have worried because it is fine apart from some annoyances. These are, the relative slackness of the bass drum hoops when fully assembled and tensioned and the sloppiness of the tom mounting system. I want to mention also the very obvious joints of the wraps, quite ugly..

Sound wise the kit is certainly good when carefully tuned, in fact the toms were well dialled in straight out of the box. I'd make the same choice again.

Habe mir das GRETSCH RMR-SOP anstelle des LUDWIG Centennial Zep Set gekauft, dessen Bewertung in div.Foren als miserabel verarbeitete Taiwan Kopie des original USA Kits ausfiel. Und das war keine schlechte Entscheidung! Das Gretsch Kit (ebefalls made in Taiwan!) besticht nicht nur durch klasse verarbeitete Features & eine super Folierung, sonder auch durch einen unnachahmlichen, wuchtigen Klang. Ebenfalls zu erwähnen sollte sein, dass die Toms (frisch aus der Verpackung entnommen) NICHT, wie in div.Videos bei yt beschrieben, super-vorgestimmt sind - ein paar extra Drehungen müssen schon sein, damit man lostrommel kann! Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem GRETSCH RENOWN MAPLE ROCK SOP'13 - Set, und empfehle es vor allen (Rock-) Trommlern, die eine echte Alternative zu den teuren original USA Sets von Ludwig suchen!

Utrolig lækker sæt.

Har kigget på det her sæt i omkring et år og har nu endelig fået fat i det. Og hold nu op hvor blev jeg sparket bag over.
Selve designet er så pisse lækkert at kigge på. Det klassiske wrap er en fornøjelse at kigge på.
Det klassiske design sammen men den moderne rock lyd udgør bare et sindsyg lækkert kit.
Jeg er SÅ glad for mit. Og kan ikke vente til jeg skal indspille og tournere med det.
Thomann har været hurtige til at få det fragtet fra dem til mig. Og indpakningen var også i top.

Vorab: wie üblich - schneller Thomann-Versand :)

Die Verarbeitung für das Geld ist einfach top - hatte schon einige Sets zum Vergleich, sowohl günstiger als auch teurer. Der Sound mit den Remo-Fellen ebenfalls wahnsinnig, ich habe lediglich minimal nachgestimmt. Die Bassdrum habe ich mit drei T-Shirts Größe L/XL und einem Handtuch befüllt und bin mehr als zufrieden!

Die schöne Vintage-Optik holt mich voll und ganz ab - jetzt fehlt nur noch eine zweite Standtom :) Diese gibt es zum Glück einzeln, sodass ich mir sie zeitnah als Ergänzung bestelle.

Gretsch bleibt einfach Gretsch, egal ob Made in USA oder Made in Taiwan.
