Gotoh SG381-07 MG-T Locking 6R C

Locking tuners are a no-brainer. they make life so much more convenient. String changes feel liberating and the added tuning stability feels so reassuring.
As per usual gotoh delivers a great product that simply works as intended. You open the wheel, you put string in, you close the wheel, you tune up, you forget about it till you have to change strings next time and you thank past yourself for sparing you from all the annoying winding and trying to lock the string in itself.
!ATTENTION!
THESE ARE STAGGERED TUNERS. THEY ARE FOR HEADSTOCKS THAT TO NOT HAVE A TILT LIKE FENDER HEADSTOCKS. GENERALLY SPEAKING YOUR GUITAR HAS STRINGTREES THESE ARE FOR YOU.
IF YOU HAVE A GUITAR THAT HAS A HEADSTOCK THAT GOES IN AT AN ANGLE LIKE MINE YOU NEED TO GET THE ONES THAT ARE ALL THE SAME LENGTH.
This isn't an awful mistake since you can just use the long ones for the bottom 3 strings and the short ones for the top 3 strings. But it looks kinda odd and i'm not sure if it doesn't loose a bit of tuning stability.
(so don't be like me and buy these instead of the non-staggered ones)

I installed those in an old Jackson guitar. I took measurements before, but I still was impressed with how well they fit! The installation was easy, and you can tell the care that Gotoh puts in their products. Everything about these tuners feels premium: the materials, the weight, and the smoothness when turning them, making them super precise. Tuning stability in my guitar is perfect now. Super happy with the purchase!

Also: Ich habe die Mechaniken bestellt um sie an einer SOLAR-Baritongitarre zu verbauen.
Die Telie sind prinzipiell ganz schön kurz, eigentlich für die SOLAR zu kurz. Sodass ich die 3 längeren und die 3 kürzeren in verkehrter Reihenfolge einbauen musste, damit meine dicke 56er-E-Saite da überhaupt durch passt. Das fand ich nur so mittelprächtig gut.
Ein weiterer Nachteil ist die 16:1 Übersetzung. Von der SOLAR war ich 18:1 gewohnt und das funktioniert in der Performance irgendwie eine Ecke besser.
Nun gut. Die Dinger sing jetzt an der Gitarre dran und es funktioniert auch irgendwie. Ich lasse sie da auch dran und schicke sie nicht zurück.
ABER: Ich würde sie nicht noch einmal kaufen.
