not read many reviews on this variation but I bought these for a partscaster because they seemed quite unique. This model is self locking, but without the weight of traditional locking tuners. They perform amazingly in terms of locking, tuning ratio, build quality - even with different sized holes for the top and bottom 3 strings. Absolutely nothing bad to say about these tuners, will be purchasing again for all my other builds.

Very easy to install and it was a great upgrade to my Cort guitar
