Pickup's sind ja ein "Thema fürs sich".. fast schon eine "Glaubensfrage" und über Geschmäcker soll man nicht streiten..

Für Lap Steel's suche ich immer nach brauchbaren Pickups mit flachen Polen, zu angemessenen Preisen.. und guter Verarbeitung.. Diese Kriterien erfüllt der PU schon mal.. Wer, Japan Made, Produkte von Gotoh kennt - weiß, dass die Verarbeitung ohne Makel ist.. Auch dieser Tonabnehmer muss sich da nicht verstecken

Der PU ist klassisch gefertigt, Vulkanfiber Bobbin, Stoff-ummantelte Anschluss-Litze, weiße Baumwolle Wicklung für die Spule, Alnico 5 Magnete..

Der Klang-Charakter ist, für mich, sehr angenehm.. nicht zu bissig, eher mittig und mit angenehmen Bässen..

Als Fazit.. mir gefällt der PU und das P/L Verhältnis ist mehr als gut..

Nachdem ich einige der Humbucker von Gotoh getestet hatte war jetzt der SC fällig.
Also Verarbeitung ist sehr hochwertig. Da habe ich schon teurere Marken gesehen die das schlechter machen.

Sound ist so wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe. Kein Eierschneider, aber noch mehr als genug Höhen und einen schönen Twäng. Bässe kommen etwas zu kurz, aber das bekommt man noch gut in den Griff.
Selbst bei höheren Gainsettings bleibt das Rauschen in erträglichen Rahmen. Das ist aber eh nicht seine Stärke. Clean, angezerrt bis zu ordentlichen Crunch klingt er, für mich, am besten.
Ich habe ihn mit dem Gotoh Classica am Hals kombiniert. Dieser ist jetzt kein typischen Telehb und gehört eindeutig in die Blueserecke. Habe noch einen Fender Shawbucker rumliegen, dieser passt sicherlich besser.
