Gibson needs a better QC
I will begin with Gibson quality control, which is disappointing for an instrument at this price point. Other brands like ESP often show better standards; I mention this to suggest having the guitar inspected and set up by a shop before playing, since it may require fretwork or similar adjustments.
The case is beautiful and appears sturdy, while the pickups are acceptable but somewhat weak; the neck pickup sounded overly warm, so I replaced the electronics with active EMGs.
Personally, I had Thomann handle the inspection and setup, and they performed well—it was somewhat costly but worthwhile.
With a proper setup, the guitar plays well and the neck feels comfortable; lower fret access is solid, and it performs nicely both seated and standing.
