I
Not sure if I like these.
Very easy to set up, each string came in separate bag as there is no colour codes. At first I though that these are the best strings I have ever played. After three days the snappy brightness turned into too mellow, almost muddy sound and I even gently pre-streched them on setting up. If I had a guy changing these for me daily on tour, these would be the best, but I change them myself and pay for them myself too. I guess Flea does not have to worry about that. If I ever have very important gig, I will buy these for that one, but otherwise I will try something else. Too expensive to change strings every few days. Unless you like the mellow sound, so you don’t have to change them!

Verrry Happy!
Bought these strings to try and improve the flea slap tone on my jazz bass and it worked perfect...bouncy bright sound when slapping ideal for red hot chili peppers and marcus miller type tones.

Zingy, Mellow & light like a feather
These sound very "zingy" when they are fresh and I guess that's one of the contributing factor about Flea's zingy sound in live shows. After about two weeks to a month, the oxidization mellows out the strings and add different kind of charm. Still bit zingy, but not so much as they were fresh.
The strings feel very light. They are extremely comfortable to play and do not hurt your fingers. Especially when you haven't slapped in a while and try to slap your bass again.
However, they are quite bit long. So, because since they feel light and long the tension is quite weak. You might want to cut the strings bit shorter than usual if you want to string your instrument with these.
Other than that...long live the Flea!

GHS M 3045 F Flea Signature
I am in search for bass strings since a while now. I got some good bass strings, but I never get the bass strings for the sound I want to get so far. The quality of the GHS Boomers is very good and sounds nice. They do their job good and dont sound old after a couple of weeks.
