This has been riding with me for over a year now, supporting the slim Casio Privia for most of it, but I borrowed it to somebody who heaved a Roland Fantom on top of it with no issue. Does well with “hit and run” stage setup, and holds its own with long, eight-hour events. Indoors or outdoors, with proper regulation it can handle various flooring, and even lack thereof (the clean-up was a pain, however).
Needs double-checking for the locking in the folding armlets. The spring-loaded height regulation hasn’t jammed or buckled on me yet. Width adjustment is giving me some concerns, as I’ve felt it lose grip just a little while carrying it around, folded. But it never actually lets go, so perhaps it’s just the positioning I left it in.
The screw-in feet allow for more precise adjustment, but they also tend to fly loose despite the securing nuts, so one needs to keep an eye on those lest they get lost in the tangle of wires at wrap-up.
This has been played on both seated and standing upright. I’m no giant at my 5'7", but I figure a taller player could take advantage of its maximum standing height. I certainly couldn’t, because it gets too high for me. ;) While seated, I appreciate the ample knee room for my pedal switching. Beats the hell out of any X-stand on any day, which is why I sought it out in the first place.
Other than the above, one should note that in transport, any loose straps in the vicinity of this stand’s protruding knobs, *will* snag. Fortunately, nothing hazardous and easy to remedy.
I’m pleased with the fact nothing about the stand shows deterioration. It was clanky when unboxing, it remains just as clanky now. Dancing people have tripped over it a few times, and while they got hit with the ground, the keyboard kept standing.
Hope this helps with your purchasing decisions.
