Sehr wählerisch in Bezug auf Mundstücke

Erster Text mit meinem SAXZ-Vintage- Mundstück: Es ist einfach nicht möglich, dem Ding irgend etwas Tonähnliches zu entlocken. Nanu, ist das Blatt kaputt? Keine sichtbaren Beschädigungen, sieht gut verarbeitet und gleichmäßig aus.
Dann ausführlicher mit verschiedenen anderen Mundstück angepielt: aha, (irgendeinen) Ton kann man damit schon erzeugen, aber absolut miese Ansprache, dünner Ton - nicht ernsthaft spielbar.
Später die Erleuchtung: Japaner passen zueinander! Mit meinen Gottsu funktioniert's recht gut, mit dem Aizen Jazzmaster richtig gut. Etwas nasaler, recht tragfähiger Ton, nicht uninteressant, Ansprache ist in Ordnung, macht Spaß.
Aber eben Lottospiel: nur mit 2 aus 10 Mundstücken ist das Ergebnis zumindest befriedigend. Mit meinem Lieblingsmundstück (Ted Klum Acoustimax) harmoniert das Blatt leider schlecht. Also: umsonst gekauft.

Achtung!!! Die Blattstärke 3,5 ist irreführend. Sie entspricht einem Ricoh Jazz Select 2H.
Das Blatt spricht über den gesamten Tonumfang leicht, schnell und sauber an.
Der Sound ist hell, aber nicht schneidend, sondern eher rund und warm. Er unterscheidet sich nicht von dem eines Holzblattes.
Wahrscheinlich hält das Blatt sehr lange. Nach ca. 150 Spielstunden konnte ich noch keine Veränderung in Ton und Ansprache gegenüber einem neuen Forestone-Blatt feststellen.

Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswert

Zunächst hatte ich ein Forestone Altblatt Stärke 3 getestet. Das war mir etwas zu leicht und ein wenig scharf im Sound. Da ich die unfiled-Variante vom Tenor her kannte und damit ganz zufrieden war, bestellte ich ein unfiled 3,5 Altblatt. Dazu muß ich jetzt sagen: Das ist das beste, was ich an Kunststoffblättern bisher ausprobiert habe! Ich weiss noch nicht, ob das die Zukunft für mich sein wird, aber auf jeden Fall eine gute Alternative zum Üben oder für Notfälle.
