Extremely disapointed with workmanship.

I have been using these reeds for sometime and was quite satisfied with response, sound and quality. However, these reeds have started warping. One reed in the upper right corner. Two others, the tips are warping outwards, while the last reed has warped inwards, completely closing off air to a mouthpiece.

All of these reeds have been taken off after every time I play, to swab my instruments. I have also ensured that none of them lay flat on a surface, thereby trapping moisture under the reed.

I am flabbergasted that composite reeds can act this way. My only conclusion can be - very poor workmanship.

Speelt bijna zo goed als het beste natuurlijke riet!

Het Forestone Hinoki riet spreekt net zo aan, en voelt en klinkt bijna hetzelfde als een goed natuurlijk riet. Alleen in het onderste register zoemt het een klein beetje, maar dat zal ook een embouchure-aanpassing zijn. De toon en aanzet zijn mooi rond, en zeker niet plasticachtig. Het "Hard" riet is qua sterkte voor mij vergelijkbaar met een Vandoren V12 riet sterkte 3.
Ik heb het riet nu twee keer in een ensemble gebruikt, en tot nu toe heeft niemand gemerkt dat ik op een kunststof riet speelde. Het oppervlak heeft ook de ruwheid van een echt riet, en gelukkig is de kleur ook als van een natuurlijk riet.
Al met al ben ik heel tevreden.

Ik heb het riet gebruikt op een Buffet Crampon RC met een Vandoren B45 dot mondstuk.

Update: na langere tijd spelen slaat het riet helaas dicht op de fortissimo passages. Het is de moeite waard om er twee te hebben, om af te kunnen wisselen.
