Each drum head is equipped with individual damping according to its size
The damping material is not glued on, but mounted directly onto the underside of the drum head and varies in thickness and width, depending on the head diameter
Thanks to this individual damping, the EC2S drumheads have more sound, sustain and a sharp attack
Additionally, the new EC2S have an impressive voice spectrum and dynamic range

As I always say I am a big fa of Evans products! I use it on all my drum kit pieces. I high recommend this skin and also all other skins. Just for information: Evan skin has a range of black skins. Worth have a look.

Evans drum skins are top quality. The sound is perfect, they are durable and last long. I would highly recommend Evans over and above any other skin brand.
I recently switched to Hydraulic batters for all my toms; the EC2s are a classic looking and sounding clear tom batter, but the hydraulics for me are a lot rounder and fuller sounding. They decay quicker than the EC2s clears, so for my taste hydraulics are perfect. But, if you prefer longer decay and a slightly more complex set of fine overtone options in tuning, then I couldn't recommend the EC2s skins more.
Proper good old Evans.
