After 20 years, I have settled for those.
Let me start with the one complain that I have from Ernieball: Their strings do not last. I actually have to change strings more often when I use Ernieball compared to any other brand.
Having said, no other brand has the Ernieball sound, when it comes to vintage rock at least, so not only I m stuck with those, but I am grateful that they are still being made the same way they were made when most of my favorite recordings were produced.
I first tried these because of David Grissom and it really is a great set, especially if you tune down to Eb. The lighter bass strings do not produce the scratching sound of heavier gauges and the heavier treble strings give a nice Tele-like aggression to my Gibsons & PRSi

great value
What i love of this strings is that they sound really bassy. The tension in my fender is really good... in a gibson scale they are more sludgy to me.. but i used high tension strings (jazz fellow).
The durability is though not too long... i am very picky when strings become rusty

Custom Gauge quality
Good quality custom gauge, the right combination for my Fender Jaguar, I love the spread from chunky to shiny. Always great from Ernie

Ernie Ball 2220
I immediately ordered four times the strings for guitar. I play on solidbody guitars like my Gibson Les Paul , do it yourself Telecaster or Stratocaster USA . Everything works great and I want to play any other strings more . I also played it on my strings initially Gretsch 5120 and on my Epiphone Swing Rochester that I bought at thomann . Here it makes sense to order the string thickness slightly stronger , otherwise the string tension is too weak and the Bigsby vibrato protrudes too far. From the life I am satisfied , the strings maintain good, but I also do not play so wild that every two weeks would tear a string . Shipping as always was very quick at Thomann !
Thank you thomann !

Very good strings for harder sound
2220 strings are really good for a hard rock or metal type of sound, but of course you can play other genres as well.

Standard and reliable
Not way too awesome set of strings, but they deliver what they're meant to do, always used them since they're a balance between quality and budget.

beefy
I liked them for my archtop, but not for my telecaster, made me work :).
A bit too beefy, but soundwise they're great!

Purple string pack of DOOM
I love these strings, they sound really thick and heavy when in E/Eb-Standard tuning and don't tend to break. The only real downside is that they wear in like a month so if you don't change your strings too often these strings can turn into a real pet peeve.
