EMG IS THE WAY
this pair of Emg's is one of the best things I bought in years...Easy to install and very very fun to play with.
For the lead tones they work amazing, definition is the word I would use to describe how they sound while cranking up the volume for the solos. As Rhythmic Pickups they sound great too 57 is less heavier than his most famous brother 81 but I can easily play every music genre I want...I would say Versatility is the key word compared to the most used sets 81/60 or 81/85 ...
the Clean tones...I stop right here...just buy them and test them yourselves. I am 100% satisfied with how they sound and how they look!
The only thing that I miss is the possibility to split the coils like I used to do with the passive pickups I had before, but hey to be honest onstage I rarely splitted them...usually I played only with 2 or 3 settings even before so... Yeah who cares!

Incredible variaty of tones
These pickups deliver both heavy and crunch/clean tones. Were harder to control at first because of increased low end compared to standard active pickup sets, though they also have clearer mid-range and less sandy highs, which I like – it's easier to get the tones you want when there's not so many overwhelming frequencies.
Also had to adjust them lower with the screws, so they won't overdrive/clip too much on cleans and then – voila! The tone becomes really tight and chunky on high gain, low gain becomes really rich and juicy. Dynamics are incredible!
And together with EMG EXG I reached beautiful clean surf rock and funk tones!

EMG 57/66 Rules!
I think the 57/66 Set is the best pickups EMG nowdays can offer.
I was always an "Active-Guy" who most plays metal and hard rock.
It fits perfect to that style of guitar playing. The 57 chugs brutal, has the definition, dynamic and clarity. The 66 has that "Air" and smoothnes for lead playing.
Absolutely recommended!

Best EMG
Great sound and clarity. Take distortion really well without being too harsh. Clean sound is excellent, and you can play more than metal. Easy to install without any soldering. Do not forget to buy a toogle switch,

was just worth every penny, used it in my matt heafy les paul, had the sound I was so close to having, was worth the installation and the riffs I wrote when I plugged it in, EMG kick ass! the right amount of juice in the mids, in the bass, tight aggressive overdrive!

Best EMG's so far
These Pickups are really the best of the two worlds, Passive and Active. Amazing sound and clarity.
