Habe mir die Saiten für den Rickenbacker V als ersten frischen Satz für die Werkssaiten geholt.
Sie fühlen sich gut an und klanglich bin ich ziemlich zufrieden.
Mein Bass hat eine etwas kürzere Mensur, was eher schlecht für einen Fünfsaiter ist. Die Saiten E bis G profitieren vom dicken Hals und klingen sehr "fleischig". Die H Saite ist eigentlich kaum brauchbar und sollte zart und behutsam gespielt werden. Sie ist auch sehr schwer zu stimmen.
Das liegt sehr wahrscheinlich am Ricki und seiner Konstuktion.
Ich werde mal die Fat Beams ausprobieren und wenn die nicht helfen einen Saitensatz mit hexagonalem Kerndraht versuchen.
Das alles könnten wir uns sparen, wenn es wieder die besten Basssaiten der Welt geben würde: R. Cocco Strings.
