Is that D string always harder to play for you? Here's the solution.
I own a Fender MIM Deluxe Jazz bass.
I always used the 45-105 string to get that nice low E.
For some reason I always found that the middle two strings were harder to play, and I was always trying to find the right action for them.
After trying these, everything plays like a charm.
E is tight as a beast (handles drop D well),
A and D are light and
G is snappy.
I' m never going back to unbalanced strings.
I just wish D' Addario made a BT set for my medium and short-scales.

I use these for standard E tuning on a standard 34" bass, works great for me.
After a while they become somewhat more dull sounding (as all strings do...) but they still provide you with a punchy and clear sound withouth the bright top end, i actually prefer them in this state as compared to "fresh-out-of-the-pack".
Never broke a bass string, and i don't expect these won't deliver the same reliability.

Lovely strings
I combine these with a XLB160 single .160 for my 5-string for a balanced tension set in drop A.
Great clarity and response, very bright which I like.
There are no downsides really, just preferences. If you want a mellow sound, go for something else - but with these, you can always roll down tone, whereas you can't brighten up dark strings.

Great Strings for great price!
Amazing strings for the price! They last quite long and the sound has enough bottom, crisp and highs. Versatile and works for every kind of music. I really recommend these you can't go wrong with these.

Typically dependable D'Addario quality, strings arrived fresh. Consistent tension across all strings and set up well on my Ric with low action due to the hex core. Windings are smooth with a nice playing feel, these strings have a good punchy mid presence.
