Fancy-looking pipe with a soft tone
Anonymous 18.03.2015
This tin whistle is quieter than the Clarke Sweetone. Its tone is soft and airy, and it lacks the high-end crisp of the Sweetones -- this is nice especially for playing airs and slower reels, but I'm not sure if the sound would cut through when playing with a band.

The whistle has an "old-school" wooden fipple, which I found slightly harder to make a sound with than the standard plastic fipples.

Finally, I must say that this pipe looks very pretty, so it is also a nice piece of decoration!

Nice little pennywhistle!

I had a lot of fun learning to play the penny whistle with this Clarke whistle. All in all, it's a cheap instrument, no doubt; the sound is fine, though, and playability is good. Just don't expect to get anything decent-sounding out of it as a complete beginner. This took me a while to learn! Overall, pretty good value for the price and fun to own.

A more gentle sound than you might expect
Daniel4610 04.06.2014
I own several whistles in this key and I think this one is my favourite. It might not be as bright a sound as most whistles with a cylindrical bore and plastic fipple, but it has a soft flutey quality I really like. Great for slow airs. It handles really well but requires some TLC in the low notes. It's also worth warming it up beforehand as it does get moist quite easily. It's worth it for the sound though.

Whistle does the job. Reasonable price and quality. Fair value for money. Recommended.
