I had high hopes for the Boss GM-800, expecting it to be a versatile tool for live performances. Unfortunately, it feels more like a toy than a serious instrument. While the range of sounds and features is fun to explore, the latency is a major letdown. Low notes feels quite noticeably delayed, which makes it nearly impossible to use in a live setting where precision is key.
As a toy for casual experimentation, it’s decent. The synth tones are cool, and it’s enjoyable to mess around with at home. But as a professional-grade tool, it falls flat. If you’re looking for something reliable for gigs, this isn’t it.
