Fattens the sound, with a caviat
It does the job, sounds fat and amazing. But theres a caviat. Maybe i just cant dial it in. Maybe its just the combination of my snare, my head, my mic and this item. But the microphone picks up a buzzing high frequency noise when miced up, cause it vibrates against the head after a hit. I feel maybe the outer ring should be weighted more. The room sound is nice and fat though.
