Great Place to Start
This pickup was a godsend for me. Purchasing my acoustic guitar initially (Walden) I purposefully chose one without an inbuilt pickup. My previous guitar had a pickup already installed, and sounded wonderful plugged in, but not so hot on its own. I thought I might reverse this effect, and am very happy with the results. However, as a young guitar player I knew not the hazards associated with micing a guitar in a live situation. I soon learned that if the issue wasn't horrible feedback, it was atrocious sound, or ignorant "sound engineers." I knew I was in need of a pickup system.
It was easy to install after I had loosened the string I rarely remove it, but when I do it is a bit tricky. After a few months pf having a wire trailing out of my guitar I just took it to my local repair shop and got him to run it through the body of my guitar. The sound is very alright. I imagine a decent preamp would liven it up a bit, but plugged straight it it lacks a certain.... ooomph. Low frequencies aren;t especially strong. I suppose you get what you pay for though and at the end of the day it's ten times better than fiddling around with microphones.

Artec speak in
Jah, I bought the Artec MSP-50
Somehow could say that this product reminds me too much, the old 80s tones
I really did not expect much of a product so cheap. It is a very easy product to install the only problem for me is that there came with no instruction. the packaging came with two small pieces that to me would be something like braces or adapters and I really don't know how I set it, well I did the installation and it worked really well.

Very good pickup for the price
Although I prefer to use the Fishman Rare Earth equivalent for customers needing to make high quality recordings, the Artec is very good for general gigging purposes if you can't afford the Fishman

Cheap but with quality
The sound actually surprised me, did not expect for it to sound as good as it does. Installation can be a little tricky. Great quality for it's price.

Very Handy
This is a very handy piece of equipment to have lying around for when people come over to play. Its so simple to install and remove that it can be put onto almost any acoustic guitar. I will get another one of these and put it permanently into a cheaper acoustic guitar and have one lying around for emergencies.
