A small but great pedal
Anonymous 25.04.2016
I bought the Artec Analog Delay SE-ADL pedal to use it mainly for my live shows and as an additional pedal to my pedalboard for my lead guitar work onstage. In a recording studio situation the SE- ADL pedal is also very flexible and can be set up very fast with no fuss at all.
If set up properly, it can deliver a great superb vintage delay and echo sound.

I don't think that there's any other delay or echo pedal out there that can beat the price of this little analog delay pedal. The tone is warm and brighter than most pricy pedals out there. The top metal body shell is solid and eye catching and the vintage looking time, mix and repeat knobs are soft and easy to use for guitar pedal newbies.

When I had it for about three days in my studio, the battery cover was broken but this never did affect the total mechanical function of the pedal . I tapped it with ducktape and it worked perfectly again. Should one record live in a home studio, the switch button is so loud and making that horrible clicking noise, but the sound still sound great.
There's a noise and an unavoidable hiss occuring during a certain volume. Maybe this is only during live gigging. One overall master volume for the whole pedal would have been usefull because when one mix everything together, there's no way to controll and regulate the pedal overall volume properly but only have to rely on the volume of your musical instrument. Otherwise, a great sounding great little pedal. I like mine and do use it for all kinds of effect experiments on and of stage.

You get what you pay for.

Been using this pedal on my board all day since it arrived.

Does it delay? Absolutely. Is it worth it? I'll get to that.

The pedal itself is well-presented in a sleek little box, and is held in place by a little foam ring on the inside. The build quality of the pedal itself is pretty decent, die-cast metal, a clicky footswitch, some rubber tread on the bottom and some fairly solid feeling pots. It even came with a 9-volt battery ready to go in the battery box; nice.

The interface is pretty simple and self-explanatory, the amount of delay you want, how much of it you want in the mix, and how long you want the delay to last (which if cranked fully, will soon begin to feedback into infinity and blow your face off).

There are problems with the pedal however, as when I first plugged in it made a horrific shrieking noise, which was quickly solved by using a battery. There also appears to be some trapped static in the pots, every time I turn them there's hissing and crackling. It also seems to struggle when dealing with higher outputs, leading to occasional volume spikes. However this has turned out not too badly in My case, as I enjoy sound design using signal artifacts and faults in My projects.

For Me, this pedal wasn't a huge loss, but if you're in the market for high quality, crystal-clear delay pedals, then I'd hold on to your pennies.

I have been using this pedal on my board all the time since I decided to buy it.

The sound is interesting... is it worth it? I'll get to that.

The interface is pretty simple and self-explanatory, the amount of delay you want, how much of it you want in the mix, and how long you want the delay to last.

There are problems with the pedal however, every time the delay circuit it's triggered a quite annoying shrieking noise is audible.

There also appears to be some trapped static in the pots, every time I turn them there's hissing and crackling. It also seems to struggle when dealing with higher outputs, leading to occasional volume spikes.

For Me, this pedal wasn't a huge loss, but if you're in the market for high quality, crystal-clear delay pedals, then I'd hold on to your pennies.

Fun for the price

I got this delay to use use on my monosynth (rather than guitar) during jams and found it to be a great deal of fun. The analog type delay sound is actually rather pleasing and has a satisfying dirtiness as the repetitions really pile up. The only downside (and this could be due to something else in my setup) is that when I've tried to record I get some unwanted noise when the pedal is bypassed.

A very average delay..
Anonymous 07.05.2016
So much so that I passed it on to young relative of mine not long after buying it.....
Quality seemed fine, solid casing, knobs and switch but I found it sounded a bit thinner than my other delays(A digital Danecho ,an ancient analogue Arion and one of the classic Ibanez AD-9's)...maybe I was expecting too much of what was a very competitively priced unit but it really failed to impress on any level..

an ok analog delay
Anonymous 18.06.2016
it sounds ok, does what you expect from an analog delay,
It only has the basic features (no tone knob or crazy modulation here.)
my main complaint is that the foot-switch will break if you go hard on it!!

I already own a EHX memory boy and a TC Electronics Alter Ego for my guitar and wanted a cheap delay pedal in order to experiment with some synths etc, mainly on the sends of my mixing board.
The pedal is a bit noisy (not really much) and the mix knob just adds in the delay it doesn't allow for only having only the delay heard, making it unusable in the effects send of the mixing board.
If you need a delay pedal that will allow exploring experimental/ambient sounds, this is not for you, if what you need is something like a cheap slapback though, I would recommend it.
