This horn has a great sound, very intense and clear. It is also quite loud, there's some margin for dynamics, but it's not very wide. Jumping up to the harmonics is possible, but quite hard, and the tone quality lowers, the notes are not as clear.

Das Signalhorn ist ein wirklich solides, archaisches Teil. Ich habe bei meiner Suche nach einem Instrument aus Naturhorn nichts Vergleichbares gefunden. Um den Ton zu erzeugen, braucht man einen gewissen Blechbläseransatz, aber was dann rauskommt, ist von der Lautstärke und der Tragweite her mit einer Vuvuzela zu vergleichen, nur deutlich schöner! Den Ton kann man lediglich eingeschränkt modulieren, indem man den Trichter beim Blasen teilweise mit einer Hand abdeckt. Für mehr als einen Naturton ist das Horn schlicht zu kurz, oder man hat die Lippenmuskulatur des Hulk. Apropos Länge. In der ursprünglichen Beschreibung hat Thomann eine ungefähre Längenangabe gemacht. Mein Instrument war knapp 10 cm kürzer, was 20% ausmachte. Nach meinem Kontakt zum Kundencenter hat Thomann die Größenangabe ersatzlos entfernt. Für den Preis war mir das Teil dann doch zu klein, so dass ich es schweren Herzens zurück gesendet habe.
