pocket rocket
This was the best musical purchase I have ever made, quite simply because it let me travel with a trumpet without worry. I traveled from Cuba to Mexico and Guatemala, playing this lttle trumpet along the way, jamming with local musicians and even was offered a job playing with a group in Belize! I made a soft case for it but after that I could just throw it into my rucksack and off I went. Although lacking the resonance of a standard trumpet, this pocket rocket has good tuning and can still deliver a powerful enough sound, depending on who's behind the mouthpiece.

powerful little thing!
I'm very happy with this pocket trumpet. Comes with a nice case, valve-oil, mouthpiece, and even a pair of white gloves. It takes a while to get used to the smaller dimensions and a bit of practice to get the tone right, but then it is a surprisingly soulful instrument. very good and voluptuous sound, only the tone ends a little abruptly when I want to fade out. It doesn't quite possess the depths of my full-size trumpet but its volume, tone and response are much better than I had expected. I do a lot of busking in shopping centres so the size of the trumpet is ideal as I don't have to carry any clunky equipment with me, on top of that it's an eye-catcher, which makes it easier to convince people to part with their money! Quality-wise it seems to be a solid, well-built instrument, only when pulling out the slightly ill-fitting tuning slides you can see that it's not an expensive make. Probably owing to the small dimensions water accumulates quite quickly inside the trumpet, especially in colder weather. This water is difficult to get rid of through the water valves and only by frequent shaking, blowing and turning the instrument upside down can you avoid an unpleasant bubbling sound while playing. Overall an amazing little trumpet for very little money! I bought it as part of the deal that includes a trumpet stand and a brass cleaning set. Highly recommended - even better value for your money!!

Very versatile
Yes a normal size trumpet is easier to play and more in tune, but this robust little bb trumpet is easier to keep near at all times after its size, and for some reason it sounds awesome dark or mellow.

Pocket perfection
I need something small for a trip away, so ordered this. I have to say, I’m surprised, really surprised, and pleasantly so. The case feels sturdy, quite light and compact, and easy to carry. A small bottle of valve oil and care instructions in various languages were included in an outer pocket.
The trumpet itself has a nice finish, with no obvious blemishes in the lacquer (which I’ve seen in other more expensive trumpets), the slides move nicely and smoothly, and the valves spring confidently quickly. Playing it is what surprised me most. Once the main tuning slide was suitably adjusted and tuned I found it gave a nice tone which feels balanced and even throughout the whole range from bottom F# to a high register E. If I were learning to play the trumpet from scratch, I’d probably choose this.

A well received present
I don't play the trumpet and this was a surprise birthday present for my wife who does. It was received with surprise and delight when she saw it as she hadn't seen one before and seemed to be fairly impressed with how it plays.
She took it with her to her band practice and all of the trumpeters in the band had a parp on it and she said that it went down pretty well with them too. She doesn't play it all the time, but does when she wants something a bit different or is limited for space.

Amazing Purchase. Thanks Thomann.
Out of the box it’s about what you’d expect of what i assume to be a Chinese factory made instrument. It played perfectly fine, but It was relatively smelly and whatever was used to lubricate it was really stinky and gross. the slides also got stuck several times, but after a thorough wash, getting all the weird gross factory lube off the instrument and replacing it with regular valve oil and slide grease + working in the slides a bit got this instrument working to a wonderful standard. It is very pleasant to play, the valves are surprisingly responsive and satisfying, also said valves being made of monel makes this a great deal and the whole instrument is actually really in tune and fun to play. the case that comes with the instrument is quite wonderful as well, and i’m overall incredibly happy with this purchase and would recommend it to just about anyone looking for a pocket trumpet. it’s a wonderful little thing, produces an amazing tone and is all around really comfortable to play at a jaw dropping price!

Thimann TR-5 Bb Pocket trumpet
I ordered thid product which I am glad I did. The service from Thomann was excellent. Very fast delivery and fantastic service. I would order from Thomann again Thank you.
The pocket trumpet is of brilliant quality. I have to admit I did have doubts at first but seeing and playing the pocket trumpet showed I made a very good choice. My advice is if you are thinking about purchasing a pocket trumpet then this is a very good instrument for either a learner or professional.
If you have never seen a pocket trumpet before these are very small and the size will amaze you but ivery big sound quality.

Is out of tune
I got this trumpet to accompany my wife in trumpet lessons. Imagine my let down when the teacher told me that this trumpet is playing A instead of B flat. The teacher said that he is unable to tune the instrument.
So all the good things in other reviews are meaningless if I cannot play with others.
I thought I got a faulty instrument so I requested to exchange it for another. And here's the cherry on top is, Thomann support was extremely helpful. So helpful actually, that they said they cannot guarantee that a replacement item will be better and suggested a refund - which I accepted.
If the brand owner themselves don't trust their product, I'll let the reader draw their own conclusions.

Great for camping
I got this to have a cheap trumpet to take with me when I travel (but won't be performing). It's perfect for that. Tiny, works fine, decent valves. Intonation is a little below par, but not terrible. Sometimes i actually like the sound better than my nicer horns for certain pieces, it's more compact and intimate somehow, kinda like those felt pianos people are playing now.

Pocket trumpet
Not used much, but ideal - in my case - for taking on holiday to do some practice and not taking up very much room at all. Playing quality isn't as good as a full size trumpet, but horses for courses!
