I've never managed to get an actual tone out of this

Hehe, using the word "tone" there, as saying it doesn't make any sound would be an exaggeration. I did get a lot of hiss and wheezing out of it ;), but not anything resembling a stable note, even remotely flute-like.

After following instructions and tutorials and whatnot, this still won't budge. I guess my nose is incompatible with it - however, the shaping of the wood, and all such, is totally okay. It just... doesn't work (at least for me).

Someone did mention in a review they needed to modify this in a DIY fashion, carving it and so on, in order to hear an actual sound out of it. I need to try this at some point. Ultimately, though, it's a novelty instrument, and... using an extensive amount of time on trying to fix it and use it... well...

Warm sound but clumsy

The tone is warm and soft but the flute is compared to plastic flutes clumsy and with poor finish.
