A great alternative to wooden reeds

If you're wondering how this reed compares to Legere, it's made of a different, drier, less pliable type of plastic, so it results in a different, much brighter sound. I found that it likes to squeak on mouthpieces with larger openings, and contrary to most synthetic reeds, this one needs to be slightly moist to be at its best.

It's partially made of bamboo fibre, so it's not going to last as long as fully synthetic ones. Still, it costs about as much as 4 wooden reeds and it's going to outlast them easily (considering using up 1 reed a week), so you're getting a lot of value for your money.

As a beginner, I found this reed to be very easy to play and it actually improved my sound when I was using a Yamaha 6C mouthpiece. Later on, I graduated to Vandoren V16 T7, which has a pretty large opening, resulting in the squeaks I mentioned. I would recommend it even as your first reed.

Ich spiele das Blatt seit einigen Monaten auf einem Otto Link STM 6 und es spricht über alle Register recht gut an. Obwohl die Spitze des Mundstücks vorne etwas runder als die eher rechteckige Form des Form des Blattes ist. lässt es sich gut spielen und klingt gut. Es fühlt sich mit der Zunge und Unterlippe etwas glatter als Holzblätter an. An der Rückseite ist es etwas dicker als z.B. die Blätter von Vandoren. Das wird mit der Otto Link Blattschraube schon knapp, aber geht noch. Die Blattstärkenangabe mit 2.0 ist meiner ein Einschätzung nach mit Vandoren V16 2.0 vergleichbar. Der Vorteil gegenüber z.B. den Vandoren V16 ist, dass es sich über lange Nutzungsdauer kaum ändert, und Austrocknung oder Feuchtigkeit keine Rolle mehr spielen. Auch mit dem Yamaha 4C war ist es spielbar, da bräuchte ich aber mittlerweile eher 2.5 oder 3.0.

Vor 3 Tagen habe ich mir mein erstes Tenorsax von Thomann zugelegt (davor Altsax gespielt).

Wobei mich am Sound per se nichts gestört hat, muss ich sagen, dass für mich persönlich die Farbe ein großes Problem darstellt.
Bei einem Kind kann ich mir gut vorstellen, dass dies besser ankommt mit dem aufgedruckten Superhelden.

Wenn einem das Design jedoch nicht stört, dann kann man dieses Produkt sicher als Schnäppchen betrachten, da das Preis-Qualitäts Verhältnis recht gut ist.

Würde ich nochmal kaufen, wäre es in schwarz oder holzfarbig und ohne "Superheld". (Bekäme dann 4 Sterne gesamt)
