I bought this lyreharp partly to pique my daughter's musical curiosity (9 months old at the time of purchase) as she's so interested in my guitars. I felt like having multiple strings without having to fret meant she could get a more varied sound directly. She loves it! Naturally she is only allowed near it under supervision, this is not a toy and the strings around the tuning pegs could be sharp. (It's also useful to lull her to sleep 😉)
My wife has taken to it also, it's quite therapeutic to play and has a really nice tone. I'm definitely planning to use it in recordings at some point, although I haven't mic'd it yet.
Build-wise it's very impressive, solid to hold and a nicely coloured wood. Definitely something people take note of when they come over. It also comes with an excellent case which is very sturdy, as well as a tuning key and spare strings.
I give the tone 4/5 just because it's a bit on the quiet side in the lower register, but then that shouldn't realistically pose any problems. It holds its tuning pretty well too, although it does take a minute to tune through all the 24 strings compared to the guitar 😆
