Thomann CR-950 L Superior Cornet

I bought this cornet a few months ago. As I usually play the trombone and euphonium, but wanted to give the cornet another try, I was looking for something with a large bore as it would be easier to play.

However, as it is a side project, it needed to be on a budget. For this price, this cornet plays incredible. The valves were a bit “stiff” when i just started, however after applying some oil and playing a bit more on it, the valves started going more smoothly.

The instrument itself has a nice, open and broad sound that, at least for me, plays pretty nice in all registers. The included mouthpiece is a too small for me, but that’s personal since I normally play on larger mouthpieces.

Overall, I sincerely recommend this instrument if you are on a tighter budget.
