BEAST OF A SUB!!!
Valio 06.08.2017
I don't care what brand or speaker size of single sub box you've been working with so far, I can promise you that this thing beats them ALL !!!
You can point at any other brand that costs double the price of this one, and this thing will blow each and every one of them clean off, without even breaking a sweat.

I have this speaker as a set of 2x10" satellite +1 sub, and I play on open air venues for up to 200 people, and sometimes playing in bars. I play keyboards and striking a lower note is giving me the shivers now, it sounds so powerful! Up until now when I bought this sub, I finally stopped being worried about not having enough power. From the first night I've put it on stage, it blew my mind how much power reserve it has, and how low and loud it goes. I pushed it quite hard, until the point that my pants where shaking as I was 2 metres in front of it, and that thing still had plenty more to give before making it clip...IT'S INSANE!!!

Being 41kg. is not a feather, but still is much more compact than any 18" sub, and I suppose it gained that extra weight in form of structural rigidity, because 132db of sound pressure will and can mechanically destroy weak and poorly designed box, so it needs to be as heavy as it is. Still, the weight doesn't stopped me from buying it, even though I have to move it every night, but since I have a trolley to move it around, that's not such a big issue. Having to deal with the hassle of caring that heavy box every time, is well worth the pleasure to hear it roaring behind me.
And it also comes pre-drilled for wheels installation, you can use the box as a trolley on it's own.

Pros:
Very soft but punchy bass.
Various presets to match it with your satellites at the back panel.
Drops very LOW powerful.
Comes prepared for installing wheels of your choice.

Cons:
It would have been better if there where just holes in the middle of the side panels, instead of handles closer to the one end of the side panels.
Causes blurred vision and extreme bow movement when played loud ;)

Resume:
If you have any doubts or prejudices about not buying big brand names, you can leave those worries away now, and you'll save yourself some beer money, without compromising in sound and quality...Thomann has put some serious engineering thought and know how in building this truly outstanding box...hands down to them for this one!!!

Update after 7 years of use:
I've had an issue with crackling speakers after about an year of use, but it somehow miraculously fixed itself on it's own shortly after it appeared, and I still use that sub to this day at least 3 times a week.

This is just insane!! no, Seriously Insane!!
DjChrisW 28.01.2022
The reputation that this sub already has in the dj world, is that its an absolute beast.
I can only reiterate this along with all the other positive reviews.
There is no way you'll find a better bass bin at this price point. You'll probably be hard done by to find one as good at double the price.

I'm just blown away by the output of bass this sub delivers.

I've used lots of different subs over the years and worked along side many from budget to high end. This easily mixes it with the higher end subs. For example Mackie Swa1801(old skool), Hk audio linear 5 sub2000 , ohm trs 218 and knocking on the door of my person favourite bass system Aura XD18C (for low end)

I don't think you will find anything at this price point for power and bass that can live up to this sub. If i had room for another one
, I'd buy another tomorrow!!
Very deep well defined bass but also nice and punchy for them dance tunes.
It plays effortlessly across all genres of music. I think its seriously at home with the hiphop, rnb genres. It literally had my house shaking during testing. Cant wait to gig with this.

I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Pyrit 212a!

Big thanks to Thomann for a fantastic service. Especially shipping to the UK no issues at all

Lastly
The only con is the weight and handle location to lift. Definitely recommend the caster wheels or a trolley. them only negatives are brushed aside once you have it rockin!

My personal view for Pyrite 212A
UK Soundd man 16.06.2018
i use 2 of these with 4 Mackies SRM 450.V3 at the moment with a 16 channel DSP Mixer which enhances the sound Quilty even more. I use this System setup for small to medium venues for Weddings, Christening and Party's.
My opinion is you get a big sound for such a small compact system 212A gives out such a deep round bass line that will fill out lots of Venues here in the UK and that's without even pushing them to the limit.
I think wherever buys these will surely not be disappointed just set up correctly and your all good.
I am in the process of buying more i want 8 in total and that will fill most venues without stressing them out to much.
Hope this helps anyone who is looking at buying Pyrit 212A.
You get a lot for your money.
Customer service is reaaly good also and i have always received my items within 4-5 days.

Absolutley awesome for the money
Peter N. 859 17.10.2019
I was a bit wary of buying a lesser known brand but after reading the reviews posted by others I purchased one to send out with a pair of JBL 515XT's to extend their audience capacity, and hopefully also prevent them being overdriven. When I fired it up I was blown away by their performance, a single sub turned a pair of 15" JBLs into a PA suitable for an audience of 200+, they performed over and above what I would expect from a high end 18" sub @ over twice the price. I actually prefer them to my HD1801 Mackie subs. I ordered another 212 Pyrit Sub A the very same day, and will buy another pair in the near future. If you are looking for a capable sub for not a lot of money these are a great choice, don't just take my word for it, read the other reviews, I agree with just about all of them.
The only cons in my opinion are the handle positions, these are heavy subs due to their 'tour grade' construction and the handle position makes them a bit awkward to lift by a single person.
The only other is I would have liked a polarity reverse switch on the amp, but these are only minor points and they won't put me off buying more, highly recommended!

excellent box..
chalky 02.01.2019
i have done nothing but spread the word hard about these subs..excellent products..i've tested it out against 18" bass scoop boxes..not only did it keep up,,some of them much larger boxes it put to shame..on it's own it's brutal..when stacked in groups or layed on their side next to each other,,seriously dangerous bass end..tone wise,,handles the sub frequencies real good..power wise,,pushed them hard in testing modes..the passives was real strong,,the actives,,haven't needed to hit the clip light..great for box positioning due to them being compact..nuff headroom..only 41kg,,1 man lift..price wise,,EXCELLENT..2019,,gonna get more of my people to buy these boxes..

BOOM !!
MickClark 25.11.2019
Took a long time to actually decide to buy this bin but must say it was worth the wait. I've been using Horn loaded bins With 2.5K amps per bin but decided to give this a go based on reviews. Played a fairly large club with just this and a pair of DXR12's. Crossed over at 120Hz. The aim was to see when it would show red as opposed to the DXR's (132dB peak). Got the DXR's just into limit, No red light on bin ! Turned off the DXR's and blasted another 6dB into bin, No red light !! I think I could have gone on pushing for quite a few dB. Sounded even better at higher level. The amp was only very, very slightly warm at end of gig. I mean Slightly ! Will be buying another of these to go with my big system. PS, handles are a pain.

WOW
Rob H.B 23.01.2019
WOW!!!! What a sub this is. Bought 1 about 4 months ago for smaller events and it is one little cracking sub, for the size and price point its amazing compared to what else is available on the market, very powerful sub for a pair of 12" drivers.

Great sub, very powerful for its size. The only things that i think it needs is more xover options and its weight isn't on the light side but for its sound these things get forgotten about.

Would defiantly recommend a buy. I also plan to buy 3 more in the future!

Maybe an unlucky client!
Suciu Cristian 22.02.2020
# Usage
- almost 3 years of medium volume use , no abuse at all
- the most of the time was used at home in very good conditions
- playing hip hop , trap and most of the time DnB music

# Clarity
- Used with 300W RMS tops. So the ratio for me is like 300 w / 1000 w
- If you use 300W / per top then you need another 1000w sub
- Powerfull and clear bass , not suitable for small rooms if you like high volume
- Used outside you get a very clear sound

# Pros
- Solid case , very good built
- Selectable tops
- No clipping if the signal is clear, do not play bass boosted music

# Cons
- After 2 years and like 10 months or so , the two woofers got a rattling noise if I pushed the volume like 50 % or higher
- Very annoying if you are standing near the sub
- The sub was in the warranty period , as a solution to this they have replaced both woofers with new ones. No cost at all , including shipment within 10 days! Thank you Thomann for this!

S
TOTAL OVERKILL
SPINTA 10.02.2018
This sub is just a monster. I didn't expect that two 12" could shake the ground so easily. It's defo better than most subs on the market now. And I am happy that I took one, because two of these would be too much. It drops very low and sound pressure is really amazing. If you want your PA to sound like a ground-shaking festival, pick this one.

It has a few drawbacks however. Comparing to it's size and weight, it needs more handles on sides.
Also don't bother taking the cover. If you mount the wheels (which i recommend) you wont be able to put on the cover.
Also it could have a crossover filter, to be able to adjust the cut.

All in All that sub is just amazing. It is a pure bass, a pure monstrocity.
