Thick and supple cable. Top end 'air' and 'jangle' preservation.
I needed a longer cable as I have a 60 sq metre studio. I scratch build valve/tube amplifiers based on simple circuits - Fender tweed, Selmer, Vox and early Marshall style - and frequently plug directly in to them, or perhaps through a vintage fuzz box which may or may not have true bypass. These vintage style builds have sensitive inputs (which I think accentuates the difference between different guitars) and I am quite obsessive with regards to treble response - Rickenbacker-> Vox, Telecaster-> tweed Harvard, that sort of thing, 'Chime, clang and shimmer.' Treble loss is noticeable with standard cables longer than about 25 feet. I am a fan of silent plugs. This cable has a noticeably larger diameter than standard cables. It is supple and flexible. It sounds superb, no loss of the top end and not in the least bit 'harsh' to my ears. I bought a VoVox 6 foot cable about 20 years ago and this cable sounds just as good even though it is about 4 times longer. Would heartily recommend these cables if your set-up/tastes are similar.

Excellent Cable – Great Quality and Performance
I’m really happy with the Sommer Cable The Spirit LLX Silent II 9.00. The cable feels very solid and well made, and you can immediately tell that it’s good quality. The sound is clear and I haven’t noticed any unwanted noise or interference while playing.
The Silent function is also really useful when unplugging the cable from the guitar, especially when changing guitars or moving around. It feels reliable and doesn’t give me any worries about damaging my amp or making loud noises.
The cable is also flexible enough to use comfortably without feeling cheap or flimsy. I’ve used it for both practice and playing through my amp, and so far it has worked perfectly.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with it. Great build quality, clean signal and a really useful silent function. Definitely a cable I would recommend to other guitar players!
