Excellent pick up
I bought this pick up as a replacement for the strat pick up in my Squier Bronco bass.
It is a good fit and just needed a little hard foam to wedge it into position - I did not use the supplied screws.
It is much more powerful than the original Bronco pick up and it has a beefier tone.
I play reggae bass and the sound of the SCPB-3 is well suited to the genre.
There is also plenty of treble and upper mid tone, if that is your requirement and there is a nice growl when played hard directly over the pick up.
I would recommend this for anyone looking for a full, vintage single coil Precision tone.

The perfect Pick Up for my 1951 Fender Precision Reissue. Although the original pick up is not bad at all, the Seymour Duncun SCPB-3 adds punch and volume. Overall sound is more vintage, which I prefer. The pick up comes embbeded in foam rubber in a plastic case with a manual, mounting screws and distance holders, which should be used. Just a little soldering work, all together the replacement takes around 15min. Note, the height of the SCPB-3 is approx. 2mm more the original PU.

Review of SCPB-3
This is a great pick-up which I truly appreciate. The description given of its qualities is accurate. Just one caveat; despite what you may have read in BGM or other guitar mags or online articles, the SCPB-3 is not an easy replacement pick-up for a Fender Musicmaster. One or the other will have to be modified. I opted not to modify the Fender! Also the electronics will need some consideration and probably, modification. In my case, with the work done, it all looks and sounds good.

Punchy tone
A good addition to any bass, I have found this coil to give a sound that is clear and defined, works well with a split pickup.

Great pickup!
I put this in a home built «Sting Bass» project. Loud warm, and clear sounding, without being too loud or «clinical».
As everything from Seymour Duncan, it’s high quality!

Ideal to put some spice and a modern touch in a 51-type Precision, but without denaturing it too much! It's a Quarter-Pounder pickup in single.coil shape, it just has a bit of hum, but that's just normal for a high output single coil.
