It works as it should

I use this for practicing guitar.

The metronome is no fuss and could not be easier to use, dial the tempo you desire, turn it on and select one of the two sounds (quartz) and set the volume.. In addition to the sound there is a flashing diode on the metronome as well.

Sounds is very loud and clear and I find it hard to believe anyone would ever need to turn it all the way up.... it gets loud..

The dial for the tempo has the classical definitions as well as the actual bpm.

Casing is hard plastic but the weakest part think would be the fold out wire-stand that I think would break before the plastic.

Batteri is 9volt and I would assume it will last for a very long time.

My only problem is that the actual BPM is written is very small letters so you need really good eyes to see which tempo you are at and I think it would have been possible to have made a small magnifying dot in the dial to help you see the tempo better.

I think this will last a lifetime and is super easy to use with no bells and whistles (it's a metronome)

Should it break I would look for one with a easier to read dial/display otherwise it got the features I need.

Indispensable tool for every practicing musician !
RookeyDookey 16.09.2014
This little black unit is really important because it helps you to keep in time and develop a feel for the beat !

The dial is divided in steps of 4bpm which is a very good choice because it prevents the display to be too cluttered (1 bpm isn't really that noticable when practicing).
I remember this well from my time when i studied classical music and piano, the mechanic metronome i used was identical in this case.

It starts at 40 and goes up to 208, a range that is broad enough for most music styles.

Acoustically the "beep" sound (there are two at choice here) is rather pleasant, due to the metronome using a Quartz instead of generating it the digital way.
I avoid the latter exactly because of the harsh bleep sounds these make, it gets on your nerves when practicing some hours.

You even get a visible sign on top of the metronome, a good help when practicing silent (for example without sound or with headphones !)

I recommend this unit to everyone who is playing an instrument, whether novice or pro.

Just works.

Very simple and effective tool. Highly recommend.

Be careful with the line out signal, because it's quite loud. I recommend setting it to zero, and then turning it up to a comfortable volume.

Simple to use, cheap and rugged

You can set this sooo easily at the twist of a dial to the tempo you want. Has a headphone socket, volume and high or low pitch click. Could be a little louder.

My best friend

This thing is my best friend! If you want to play an instrument, you have to use something like that. It has a nice handling and it works just today. You can take it every where and it is very robust. And also tuning is possible!

A
Amazing metronome
Anonymous 15.04.2016
This is really what I was looking for. For the price, it's totally worth it. It has a great range of volume... from really low to very loud, enabling you to practice with it when everyone's asleep, or even in a small group's rehearsal. It runs with a 9v Battery , which is included, and the visual is great. Good design, very simple and well built.

A simple, easy to use Metronome
Anonymous 17.12.2014
This is a fairly basic metronome with a range of tempos from 40-208BPM in the key of either A or Bb (user selectable).

The build quality is okay, fairly solid plastic construction, but nothing amazing.

Feature wise you have a tempo control wheel, volume control, headphone out and a selectable key of either A or Bb for the click. There is also an LED at the top which is synced to the tempo, handy should you be playing loud.

It's a great item to keep near your guitar rig for practice sessions, but if you have a smart phone you could probably save a few pennies and use an app. At least then you could have some tap tempo options.

Reliable and quick to adjust
saviour g 16.05.2013
I got fed up with cheap digital metronomes as they kept breaking and were fiddly to adjust.
This is great: you can quickly alter the speed, it has big battery to last ages, and it's got a clear long sound.
The only downsound is that it doesn't give quite as many different speeds as you can get with a digital or physical metronome.

good old-style metronome
randolfo 23.11.2020
you can have a metronome in any other form, but I still think an old metronome with a tempo dial is worth it. Plus, it has a headphone jack!
