A worthwhile upgrade
I am very happy with these Tuners. There are no instructions included in the box, but they are super simple to install on an American Stratocaster. Once the old Tuners are off your guitar, just align the two small nodules on the underside of the Schallers with the old screw holes and they fit perfectly. Took me just a couple of minutes to get them on the guitar, insert the new strings and lock them. Couldn't be easier - but remember these are staggered - so you just have to be sure that you install the 3 longer ones in the 6th, 5th and 4th positions !
These are a great product. Very well built, great quality, rock solid. I'm glad I invested in them and for the first time in my life I'm actually looking forard to restringing the guitar !!
So, if you're thinking about it, just do it ! Money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

Very poor quality
Would not clamp high e string so I moved the machine head to string three (G) and it still would not clamp the string. I have heard a lot of good things about Schaller. Maybe I got a bad set. I tried resolving the issue with thomann customer service and after twenty days with no resolution and no response to my final email. I am hoping for a refund

Great for a cheapo Squire
Bought a cheapo Squire for travel purposes a while back, and tuning stability was of course terrible. Installed these (but had to drill holes for the pillars).
So, tuning stability has been massively improved. I went from tuning every 15 minutes to about once a day. On a better guitar would probably do an even better job.

Perfect replacement for budget tuners
I got these to replace the cheap tuners on my Stratocaster. There is really nothing to complain about, installation took only a few minutes and they have worked perfectly for the month or so I have had them. Changing strings is easy, tuning stability is great. The price is also quite fair. I do recommend.

Works well, but installing is not straight forward
Works well as a tuner. One interesting thing, when you unlock the locking mechanism, the way for the string looks blocked. This is fine, as a little ball is held in place by a string, which you can easily push out of the way with the string. This probably is less likely to over-squeeze the string.
However installing it is not straight forward. It fits in the standard 10mm hole, but to install it you need 2 precise, small holes for the positioning pins on it. This is not the best design IMO, as it's hard to install, and in case you previously had a tuner with the little "leg" and screw, it will leave that screw-hole exposed.

Les mécaniques qui devraient être d'origine sur toutes les grattes...
J'avais de gros problèmes de tenue d'accord sur une strat avec un trémolo. Dès que je touchais à la tige, l'accord s'en allait plus vite que mon salaire le deux du mois!
Ces mécaniques auto-bloquantes ont résolu le problème. puisque qu'elles sont directement bloquées dans la mécanique et qu'il ne faut pas faire de noeud et encore moins de tours, l'accord ne bouge pas.
Un autre avantage est qu'il ne faut plus ré-accorder sans arrêt après avoir changer ses cordes. Vous tirez un peu les cordes au début comme d'habitude avec des mécaniques traditionnelles et tout est en place directement. un fameux gain de temps, donc.
La qualité de fabrication est parfaite et l'accordage assez précis.
Attention, il y a deux petits ergots à la place d'une vis pour les fixer.

Thats not that you expect from Schaller
As original fender tuning machines were not available at the moment, I've decided to buy Schaller, which is more expensive than original Fenders. But i was disappointed when they arrived. Build quality is mediocre, mounting nut and thread does not fit perfectly, at some point nut just stuck in the middle of thread and it needed a lot of force to unscrew it.
In my opinion and experience, don't go with Schallers, go with original Fenders.

I was sceptical...
... but now I'm now a believer. Fitted this set to an MIM Strat in barely ten minutes. However, you should check out some stringing techniques for locking tuners on YouTube as they do require a different approach.

The ultimate guitar tuners, Schaller never fails
I bought these to replace the stock tuners on my Fender player telecaster and they fit perfectly! the locking mechanism is flawless, making putting on new strings no longer a drawn out chore (Now it's just a regular chore).
In conclusion: If you're looking to replace your tuners you should absolutely consider these (assuming your current tuners are attached by 2 pins on the back otherwise, prepare for some drilling)
