Straightforward powerful, good quality sound
DrCheese 25.06.2020
Look at the control panel on this speaker and there's not much there: XLR or 1/4" jack input, a volume control (just turn this all the way up and forget about it), a loudness 'boost' switch for when running a low levels, a line/mic switch and a XLR out 'link' connector. That's it, there's no DSP, reverb, EQ, multiple inputs/mixer. Therefore, you will need to use this with a mixer. If you want a convenient, all-in-one, PA set-up, this is not the one. This is for small to medium size concerts and for those looking for a powerful, distortion-free, uncoloured, high-quality sound it is recommended. It features carry handles on the top and the sides making carrying it, even on your own, easy - it's not so heavy to make this impossible.
I bought two of these in a bundle with the Thomann covers, and they are designed well to match these speakers, leaving the handles free while protecting from scratches during transport. I also bought a pair of the Millenium BS-2222 stands and they support these confidently.

Very good speaker, but not excellent.........RCF is RCF, but.........
Wedd DJ 05.05.2023
I wanted to upgrade my PA system and buy a new pair of speakers.
Over the years I used the JBL & Mackie models, then for years the Behringer B815neo, and after that the Turbosound IX15, which I still have and use today.
I bought the RCF 715-A because of very good recommendations on various sites, and also because of excellent recommendations from people who play in various bands.
Everyone is very satisfied with the RCF 715-A speakers, they have been using them for many years and they have never let them down.
I checked with a local service center about RCFs possible problems before purchasing. The service man told me that he didn't have an RCF active speaker for a long time for repair, unlike some other brands.

The speaker is excellent quality, and for me personally, it has a nice appearance and design. Its weight is 20 kg, which is not too heavy for me.
There aren't too many options on the back of the speaker, but as a DJ I don't even need it, turn it on and everything works, very simple. One input is enough, no mixer or DSP.

The only problem I have is the sound, which I thought would be better and better quality than all the previous speakers I had, however the speaker sounds muddy to me personally as a DJ.
You must have a quality mixer to get a good sound. The bass and midrange are fine, but the treble needs to be adjusted.
Comparing them with my Turbosound iX15, which is in almost the same price range, I can say that the Turbosound iX15 has a better quality sound for me personally, crystal clear and sharp with deep and soft bass.
Everything sounds perfect, no matter how much I turn it up and on all types of music that go through the speaker, it gives excellent results.
Pure factory sound without mixer and EQ. It's the Turbosound iX15.
The RCF 715-A sounds muddy and lacks sharpness and clarity in the highs. A mixer is required for sound correction. And when I connected it to the mixer, it doesn't have the clarity, definition and purity that Turbosound has.
I did over 100 weddings at Turbosound, about 30 at RCF.
In the meantime, I also bought a Yamaha DBR15, which has a similar sound to the Turbosound, crystal clear and powerful.
So I tested 3 speakers of the same price range and quality.
All three speakers are almost equally strong, I give a slight advantage to the Yamaha DBR15 in terms of volume, the Turbosound iX15 should be the quietest according to the specifications and does not have FirPhase technology like RCF and Yamaha.
But when tested at high volume, neither speaker has any distortion and they sound good.
The Yamaha DBR15 and TurbosoundiX15 are better for me as a DJ in terms of quality and beauty of sound "out of the box" than the RCF 715-A speakers.

I recommend this speaker to players and musicians in a multi-instrument band who definitely use a mixer for sound EQ and who need a quality and durable speaker.
I wouldn't recommend it for DJs, because the factory sound needs to be adjusted with an additional mixer. There are speakers in the same price range that sound better.
