Very tough case.

I bought this case for my screwbell horn as it came with a soft case for use with the bell off. I'm not a big fan of removing the bell (slightly ironic) so I leave it attached and transport it in this case. The case is very well made with good handles and strong zip fasteners with a soft slightly fluffy lining. It fits my double horn very nicely, has 2 mouthpiece sockets and a large external pocket. It is reasonably heavy, but I am happy with the weight trade off for the superior protection the solid sides give. I would be very happy to recommend this case.

S
Nicely made case but the backpack option is hopeless.

I like Protec instrument cases - they are always nicely made, good value and look very smart. This was no exception, with strong positive zips. It is a neat and lightweight case giving good protection. I bought the backpack clip-on straps and that is where the problem arises. Because it attaches on the rim of the case, it ends up contorting your neck and back. It was really uncomfortable for my daughter to use and I found it horrible myself when I had to carry it for her one time. So, it's a great case if you DON'T use the back pack straps but absolutely terrible with that attachment. I can't believe they didn't try it first - if they had attached it to the body part of the case (like every other manufacturrer does) it would have worked fine and, like other cases, the bell could sit behind your head with the case itself flat against your back, rather than trying to bend your out of shape.
