These pickups sing!

I wanted to replace some lacklustre DiMarzio HS-3 Strat pickups. After looking around and thinking about what I wanted out of a Strat sound, I decided to go for these. I have a 1987 Japanese Fender 1954 reissue and knew I wanted something I felt was in keeping with a vintage tone, but not necessarily the full “54” brightness.
I am absolutely blown away! Yes, there’s brightness but there’s fullness and a creaminess I have never heard out of a Strat before. These pickups SING! They are beautifully touch sensitive, aren’t too noisy and are very well made. I pretty much haven’t put the guitar since! Stepping through presets on my GT-1000, they work with almost every tone. I’m not sure they’ll do death metal but for a gigging guitarist who wants a beautiful but versatile tone, I cannot rate these highly enough.
The middle pickup - one I tend to skip (don’t judge me!) - is a beauty. In fact this is really the first time I’ve played a Strat and found all positions, not just usable, but inspiring!
If I had to pick one slight con, the documentation was basic, but you can find any amount of wiring diagrams on line.
I’d love you all to see the smile on my face while using these pickups! They are awesome!

Very nice pickups

Someone said that talking about sound is like dancing about architecture, or something like that. Suffice to say that these pickups are very nice. Bright, but nothing that cannot be remedied with adjusting the pickup height or tone knob. Highly recommended.

Puissance, définition, sensible à l'attaque tout est parfait. Les noiseless vintage Clapton en mieux, c'est pour vous dire. Pensez à couper d' 1/4 les caoutchouc de fixation car ils sont trop longs. Quitte à tout démonter et changer les micros, j'ai aussi changé les potentiomètres et le condo. Bref je suis content, content !!!!

Jeg købte Pickup sættet for at installere dem i min stratocaster, som er en 1954-type. Selvom guitaren er godt bygget, syntes jeg de oprindelige pickup'er var manglede lidt klarhed og overtoner. Det skal siges det er en ældre japansk imitation og ikke en US-fender vintage resissue.

Jeg må bare sige lyden med Mojotone pickup'erne er fabelagtig! Jeg får mange komplimenter for min lyd med de nye pickup'er og bl.a. fordi guitaren lyder som dengang i morfar var ung :-) Lyden er klassisk fender og med klarhed og overtoner én masse. Samtidig reagerer de meget på styrken og vinkel på anslag, så der er mange tonale muligheder at udforske. Det er faktisk ikke lykkedes mig at få dem til at lyde dårligt på noget tidspunkt. Lyden kan være meget sprød men stadig væk afrundet i de rigtige frekvenser. Lyder bare virkelig godt.

Jeg installerede pickup'erne med et solderless wiring harness fra MojoTone og det bidrager helt sikkert også til den gode lyd og betjeningsoplevelse. Det var første gang jeg installerede elektronik i en guitar og det var faktisk ret let. Jeg fulgte de grundige instruktioner fra Mojotone og så et par youtubevideoer (bla. på Mojotones hjemmeside) og så var det ingen sag.

Samlet set er jeg yderst tilfreds med købet, så hvis du er på udkig efter den oprindelige stratocaster lyd fra 1950'erne, synes jeg bestemt Mojotone pickups er værd at prøve/overveje.

Thomann leverede som sædvanligt hurtig og uden skyggen af problemer. Tak for det!
