U do not need the basic module. U need a Superior Drummer 3.
Vitaliy K. 12.12.2021
Insane kit! Fow less than a 500 euros you receive all what you need to practice. Only one flaw - HH does not have a bell\edge 2 triggers. has only one.

Original module is OK, but when kit connected to PC with MIDI, so they unveil this strenght,
This kit need a manual setup their sensivity etc, do not expect a good sound from the box. But when you found your own settings - it will shine.

Anything better than this kit would cost a 1000+ euros and more, and only for 1500+ euro you will receive features like 2-3 zone HiHat and multizone snare.
So MPS-750X are best in slot for all non-professional drummers!

Good practice drums
ReturningDrummer 01.06.2025
I have played drums daily for more then a decade but was finding it impossible to find time to play my acoustic drum. I wanted something to practice on and after years of contemplating whether I should go cheap or save for a roland I decided to go for mps 750x and I have been playing daily at night for the last 2.5 months

Initial impression were great until I unboxed the crash pad which did not work. I bought extras craspads so it wasn't a problem and thomann replace the defective one no question asked and quickly. So I am happy with the support.

Regarding area it takes I was suprised how little ot needs and I was able to put it behind my acoustic kit in my very small drum room. So now I have a 360 drum kit Neil Peart style.

After a few months playing I love the kit although it has it limitations. Hardware quality feels like it can take beating. Module has limited sounds but I was able to find some good sounds theu even have some paiste cymbal sounds. Using a vst on pc provides a more natural sounding experience and feel but I usually just use the built in sounds. The bluetooth feature is something I thought I 'd never use but ended up using everyday it such so convenient.

The hi-hat is finnicky even after calibrating it after an hour or so of playing it start to double trigger when hitting it. Strangely enough the issue is not so bad when I use it with a vst not sure why. When this happens usually it is just a quick matter of re-calibrating it and it works well for another hour. Another issue with the hi hat is the timing of the open hi hat when you strike it. You need to be very precise compared to a real hi hat but you can get used to it and I think this it is making me more accurate.

The way the snare pad is mounted tends to slope to the left side after an hour or so of playing again it is a minor inconvenience and take a second to straighted back or you can use a normal snare stand.

Lastly for the height of kit is a bit low I would like some extensions to be able to add some height to the rack toms but this is not something thats readily available so I will have to diy somethinf. But this issue is user dependent and probably not something most people will experience if they are new to a drum kit. But for me having played acoustic and gotten used to my setup a would've like more height.

The kick pedal has a very weak spring tension even at max tightness. I have two other pedals and I realised how much spring tension changes from one brand to another. I think the spring consant on this pedal is good for young and new drummers. Again for me having got used to my other pedals I had to change the springs on this pedals. The rest of the hardware of the pedal looks sturdy and I use it on the kit just because I did not want to move my other pedals.

I might have mentioned a lot of cons however they are minor inconveniences which are far outweighed by the fun and happiness this kit brought me since I am able to play everyday at anytime instead of having another year or two to save on a more expensive one. It is a great practice kit without breaking the bank and with a vst it sounds like a real kit.

First drumkit, no experience, like it
pouzzler 29.04.2024
Four stars for quality, because the stand moves a bit too much, especially the leg that supports the snare, whose foot has a tendency to shift backwards, putting the leg at an angle. It's probably inevitable with these designs where all toms are affixed to one unique frame.
As a total beginner, who has made an impulse buy, I can't compare it to other heads, but the rebounds feel nice. Same for the kick, as a beginner, I have no comparison basis, it feels way too bouncy, but I suppose you couldn't do faster tempos if it wasn't, because your foot ain't gonna beat 300 times a minute.
I picked up drums to finally put some rhythm into myself, as I am atrocious. Therefore I could not really care less about having realistic sounds, yet what comes out of the headphones sounds like drums. No problems there. I tried a few different sounds, latin, jazz, rock, all sound good. Probably nitpickers are gonna nitpick, but this is not a pro set for a pro band :)
I have put 3 on features, because I only learn some rhythm (I know, repeating myself) - therefore I haven't tested anything on the sound module yet, except metronome, kit selection, and individual toms volume sliders.

Awesome entry-level kit
Rasmus72 27.12.2024
I bought this as my first e-kit, and it has been great so far.

What you get for the money is extremely great value. Cymbals with chokes and a hi-hat with a mechanic foot pedal is awesome and works most of the time. To be fair, there are some grey zones (between open and closed) where it does not register the hit, and also the crash cymbal sometimes misses a stroke.

I also find myself missing the cymbals or hi-hats because of their size, but I figure this will solve itself after more playing and getting used to it.

I was thinking about this vs. the Alessis Nitro Mesh and I saw some reviews about the snare stability of the Nitro Mesh, and am happy to say that the snare is really stable on the MPS-750X.

Also, extremely great that it can use USB Midi to plug into my PC and run EZDrummer & Addictive Drums. The chokes and rimshots also work on this.

Overall the money for value is massive, which is great for a beginner.

better than expected
spectroman 12.05.2025
I had a rubber kit for a long time, it is good to smash it and make good training, but you cannot feel more close to a real drum set. With the MPS-750X I have a more real drumming feeling, I can make accents and find zones with different volumes and sounds, many different detailed playing. You can take some time to get used to zones and the response for the touches but you end up with a more real thing feeling than not.

It is not expensive and it gives some satisfaction for many styles of playing.

I love the hi-hat on its complete stand, unlike other e-drums that they are detached , this one gives you the tech for the real thing, it is awesome for an e-drum, great idea!

The bluetooth feature is really good, the sound from the play over is really good too, you can set volumes easily and make it work in your preferred levels real easy.

Negative points are that, obviously is an eletronic drum and it doesn't have the perfect response as you would have in a real drum, sometimes cymbals and hi-hat will respond awkwardly, crash and ride also sometimes misbehave but they respond really well overall and the failures are not enough to cause real frustration, at least in my case.

Got some satisfaction many times with mine, hope you get some too!

AC
Very many options for reasonable price
Alex Corghencea 05.11.2020
Use
Home use for training and intend to record drum tracks on PC. Now I'm working on MIDI connection to PC to connect to VST drums plugin.

Pro:
I really like the sensibility on snare and toms, it has range and starts with at very low hits surprisingly, very natural.
Separated hihat and kick drum feels like acoustic set which is perfect for a beginner.
All mesh pads are 2 zoned and also the cymbals. The ride has 3 different sounds.
Construction is ok, its stable.
Assembly was fun :) Everything makes sense.
Playability is very similar to a beginner acoustic set.
Pads are ok by size and also the cymbals.
Also included metronome and track are nice feature.

Cons:
Sensibility on hihat is ok, but on low hits has no trigger.
Sounds in module are poor but does the job for training and for play along with songs.
Has a Bluetooth feature but not for BT headphones which is a bit sad, it has some feature to connect phone but didn't tried it yet.
Cant figure out how to setup MIDI connection to PC, device appears but is not identified in DAW, requires some more research and troubleshooting, maybe I'm missing something.

Conclusion:
I have them for 2 days and I am delighted. Fun to play. They look amazing, look like grownup and not a kid setup and feels quality. Hope I will figure out MIDI connection. Cant wait to hear in VST with huge sample libraries.

Absolutely great kit for the price!!!
Grazy 13.11.2024
I bought this kit for my daughter. She was playing for about 6 months, practicing on an improvised kit at home (pillows, pans, etc. :)). Initially we aimed to get a cheaper kit, but after doing some research we came to the conclusion that this kit gives the best value for money, and I would not recommend getting any of the cheaper options.
Pros:
1. Mash heads - gives a great acoustic-drum like feel, while keeping the noise down.
2. Bluetooth - allows practicing with background music from mobile phone.
3. Build quality - very solid for the most part (see cons).
4. Sounds - not AMAZING but very good.
5. Could be connected to pc/mac with drum software, to expend the sounds library.
6. Great value for money!
Cons:
1. The high hat mechanism is not great, maybe it's my assembly, but it is spinning.

Overall - great kit, for beginners or those who are in need for a second kit for silent practice. With a drum software it becomes a super useful tool.

I use this drum for some silent recording in the bedroom. I'm a acoustic player, and still play acoustic drums, but i use this one for some silent playing, reheasing, practice.

The setup was pretty straight forward. had it setup in about 40 minutes. The hardware is descent, but the triggers are a bit below what i expected. Sensitivity is not that great on the pads, same with the cymbals, and the trigger for the hi hat isn't great either. You can work around lots of these issues by adapting your playing, and when recording to midi you can edit the errors in the recording, however, this takes up some time that could be spent on other things.

For beginners however, this is great. It's cheap, doesn't make too much noise, you have bluetooth for pairing with your phone, the built in sounds are "ok" for practice.

So in conclusion, for the money, it's a great kit. Will a kit that's double as expensive be double as good, it probably will be, but does everybody need it, no.

If you want to start drumming and do some light recording, this is great if you're willing to spend the time to correct your recordings and tune every skin to your preference. I consider this good value for money.

S
Amazing Beginner Kit
Sech666 15.06.2025
I've been playing with the Millenium MPS-750X for more than a year now. I started from zero, no previous drumming experience, and this kit served me extremely well in my beginner journey and is still serving me very well to this day. However, I need to highlight few pain points which could definitely be improved:

1. The kit's default settings aren't good for everybody.
Over time I spent countless of hours understanding and tweaking the Advanced settings to get a good response from all the kit's components, so that playing feels nice and natural. I also changed them as my playing style evolved, and you might have to do the same.

2. The kick pad is just bad.
The sensitivity is very low, you have to stomp very hard to make it trigger, encouraging bad technique. The reason is the badly designed piezo sensor and/or bad choice of materials. I fixed it by disassembling it, removing the piezo under the foam and bringing it in direct contact with the mesh. But I was never able to get a good feeling out of it. Eventually, I bought a second hand kick pad from Yamaha and I've been happy since.

3. Snare is not great for drum rolls, flams, and stuff that need fast response. However, it's not a problem for beginners. I never had to play these techniques until recently

Perfect for complete beginners, but lacks dynamics.
MiriamK94 22.11.2020
I have practised on this kit in my apartment for two weeks, then I've decided to send it back. Here's why.
I guess if you're starting out on the drums or if you're playing genres which don't require a lot of dynamic variations, this set would be perfect for you. However, I found the sounds too artificial and the response to hits not very precise.
Of course, for the price maybe it's to ambitious to ask for perfect pad response and a high dynamic range, but sometimes, even the toms didn't really produce any sound even after a regular single downstroke -accented- . I have also noticed that the triggers on the toms lack precision if you're playing too fast.
As far as the sound is concerned, I think it's a matter of taste: I have started playing the drums on an acoustic set, so that's the sound I'm used to. I've found this module to contain a wide variety of sounds, but they somewhat lacked 'depth' to me.
All in all, the Millenium MPS-750X is a good kit for beginners, but going back I would have spend a bit more and bought a Roland model.
